At least he got decertified and can’t become a cop again, anywhere.

Lol. Oh my sweet summer child.
First off there are ALL SORTS of de-cert jobs for ex-cops in the police force.
Second, there is always other states, since there is no federal certification program all this scum bag needs to do is move, hell, Jersey and he can be a cop again.
And FINALLY, this isn't over by a long shot, police unions are fucking POWERFUL and he may get his certification back, never doubt the lobbying power of police unions.

A shocking amount of them do, and the poor spouses/children have no where to go as the officer's fellow cops won't file charges against the abusive cop.

Again....cops shouldn't be allowed to turn off body cameras while on duty and the footage should always be publicly available. I guarantee there's plenty of people out there wanting and willing to monitor them. Then, a civilian oversight committee that actually has teeth and able to suspend cops for cause.

Felony assault, battery, kidnapping and aggravated child abuse - 1 year? The DA and judge falling all over themselves to cover for these vile things, no matter what they do.
Would be nice if cops were held to the same laws as the rest of us, as he'd be away for 20+ years.

don't look at the year, look at the fact.... an idiot pissed away his career and freedom because a kid kicked his door... plus on the [rainbow] brite side, he gave 2 families millions.
and he'll probably end up destitute...

Destitute? There is likely another department, in another state or county, already rearing to hiring him. Paperwork done already, probably.

"Blue Line Discount" strikes again... Anyone of us do that, and it's 5 years easily. Additionally, everybody that participated would be charged as accomplices.

This shit is exactly why I never feel sorry when one of these pigs gets slaughtered. Fuck them, fuck their cop buddies, fuck their friends or anyone else trying to justify their brutality.
