I do agree that American culture is flawed in the fact that you're expected to move out at a young age.
I'd like to set up my house for my kids so they can live with me but also have their privacy well into their 20's just so they can get established. Unless they are spending their money on unnecessary things. Then they can get the boot early
It's not so much that he's living with his parents, that's fine. But upgrading from a 4080 to a 5090 for 1440p gaming is just a horrible money decision
Living at home for longer in order to save money, like I did, is different than mooching off your parents in order to work a menial job and waste what little money you make. And some people absolutely do that.
Well he wants to upgrade from a 4080 to 5090 for 1440p gaming so he's horrible with money and decision making, and either he's got an okay job and blows most of his money on gaming gear, or a shit job and blows all of his money on gaming gear while his parents feed him and house him
When I was a dishwasher and living with parents I took home like 600 bucks a paycheck. With basically zero living expenses it would have taken a mere few months to afford a top of the line build (unfortunately it was during the COVID hell shortages and also I got fired after a month lmfao). 13 bucks an hour goes very far when it's all leisure money.
