OPs gonna live with his parents forever and still buy all the newest PC parts, aren't they?

I understand this is American culture to move out. But it's nice living with parents, cuts out a lot of expenses.

I am living away because of internship location, but I'd love to stay back like most others in India.

I do agree that American culture is flawed in the fact that you're expected to move out at a young age.

I'd like to set up my house for my kids so they can live with me but also have their privacy well into their 20's just so they can get established. Unless they are spending their money on unnecessary things. Then they can get the boot early

Remember back when it was so affordable that anyone could?

Same in Indonesia. In fact, it’s expected for someone to say with their parents until married.

It's not so much that he's living with his parents, that's fine. But upgrading from a 4080 to a 5090 for 1440p gaming is just a horrible money decision

There's nothing wrong with getting a high end gpu for 1440p if you can afford it. The problem is that OP seemingly can't actually afford it.

I use a 4090 @ 1440, 3440x1440 and 4k and certain games will still max out the gpu utilization at 1440p

Same. 4090 pairs well with my LG 45" 3440x1440p. Can just throw everything on max and not worry about it.

Living at home for longer in order to save money, like I did, is different than mooching off your parents in order to work a menial job and waste what little money you make. And some people absolutely do that.

Not just American one. Plenty of people want some privacy and their own place.

Mommy and Daddy don‘t get you a wife just like that in the US. So it‘s not a bad idea to move out in order to get your live life going.

Now now, no need to get defensive.

Well he wants to upgrade from a 4080 to 5090 for 1440p gaming so he's horrible with money and decision making, and either he's got an okay job and blows most of his money on gaming gear, or a shit job and blows all of his money on gaming gear while his parents feed him and house him

It doesn't take long if you have no expenses. You could make 1k a month and have more spending money

1k a month...def a basement dweller.

Nah the addiction will set in, when he has bought a 5090 he will also buy a 2160p monitor

When I was a dishwasher and living with parents I took home like 600 bucks a paycheck. With basically zero living expenses it would have taken a mere few months to afford a top of the line build (unfortunately it was during the COVID hell shortages and also I got fired after a month lmfao). 13 bucks an hour goes very far when it's all leisure money.
