Pakistanis of Reddit is a subset of a subset: those with internet access, and those who use it besides Facebook and WhatsApp.

If you want a more accurate survey, do it on either of those two platforms. A more accurate conclusion is "95% of r/Pakistan boycott fauji products".

People are more likely to fill in that survey if they are boycotting. So a more accurate conclusion is "95% of the people who completed the survey are boycotting" which is a largely meaningless conclusion.

Not meaningless at all, statisticians know how surveys work. You're not the first person to make this obvious observation.

Yes, but competent statisticians will conduct surveys in a way that minimizes self-selection bias, platform bias, and volunteer bias.

Yes but they can still use data with these biases and account for them.

I’ve used Reddit and X so far 95 % on reddit and 98% on X

u/kacy757 1d ago

and half of them are abroad

Of course, almost all competent people who don't benifit from corruption are against the establishment. Half of them must have managed to escape

On Reddit atleast 95% of them were from Pakistan 5% abroad and on X 48% abroad 62% in Pakistan

More like a mini subset of a very small subset.

Reddit represents elite pakistanis who probably aren't affected by the current political crisis. However, one thing I can assure is that the Boycott is working. I've been to many stores and more fauji products are still there because no one is buying them. Many of the products are even being sold at half price but still no one is buying. So please do your part and Boycott

Boycott is working in Mianchannu

Yes even here in Lahore, many big stores such as Al Fatah have fauji products but no one is buying them. I myself used to buy fauji products such as Nurpur milk but have switched to alternatives such as Olpers.

I think the midde class and some of the upper middle class have started to boycott.

It will be interesting to see if foreign remittances start coming down now. I hope they do.  I also hope the solar panel installing continues although it is not because of protest but because of high electricity prices but it is effectively the same

Foreign remittances situation is unlikely to change as most of the funds are meant to be for parents maintenance, although funds in RDA seem to be slowing down or being repatriated

5

u/whatthehell7 1d ago

Just 10-15% decrease would still make a big difference.

2

u/RoyalSpecky 19h ago

I stopped my foreign remittances

Maybe you dont support your parents?

1

u/RoyalSpecky 19h ago

Parents live abroad with me.

elite😭? on what basis have you come to that conclusion

1

u/Inner-Individual3256 1d ago

Bro if you see the lifestyle of the avg Pakistani you'll understand how ppp and plmn have sm support

1

u/FireOfScorpion 1d ago

yes im aware but im saying just bc someome uses reddit doesnt mwan theyre elite

1

u/RoyalSpecky 19h ago

Elite are brainwashed by fauji

Conclusion: Mostly those who are boycotting the products took part in this survey. Those who don’t boycott didn’t participate

1

u/Inner-Individual3256 1d ago

Incredible leap of logic.

1

u/RoyalSpecky 19h ago

I had 3 saying they don’t boycott

I see my local CSD full of people and my local PSOs with a queue out the ass. Yes, some people are boycotting but your average majid is still going with whatever is cheaper, closer, etc.

4

u/knowledge-isstake 1d ago

Don't forget main customers of CSDs are army families

1

u/Tomoe90834 1d ago

Where was the survey done, i didn't see it

I have a Reddit on post asking people

1

u/Inner-Individual3256 1d ago

Reddit is a tiny subset of Pakistan, not even large enough to be relevant. A significant minority is very happy and benifits off the status quo and many multiple times bigger minority have been brainwashed into accepting their poverty and low standard of living, they will happily defend the people who put them there. Yes, most Pakistanis are against the establishment and fauj but lack the proper resources/climate to follow these movements.

my question is cant they hide behind different companies with shares? i mean how would people know for sure.

1

u/RoyalSpecky 19h ago

I looked at fauji companies audits and there is lots of missing assets and money and other stuff also they have money which wasn’t counted for

1

u/Obvious-Reindeer-801 5h ago

Why boycott quality products. I will buy whatever is cheap and of better quality.

Out of the 95% how many live in DHA and have boycotted their plots ? How many have boycotted FWO built roads ? Boycott where it really matters. Cornflakes aren't going to save you lol

1

u/RoyalSpecky 5h ago

look for alternatives

1

u/Obvious-Reindeer-801 2h ago

Why ? Your political opinion is yours.

A near perfect echo chamber.
