Discussion Show theft in masjid
My Husband’s shoes were stolen from the local Masjid today at Friday prayer. I tried to console him that the person may have accidentally taken his shoes, but my Mom told me it’s commonplace in Pakistan to have shoes stolen during prayer. My Husband ended up walking home barefoot, in the rain and cold.
I’m wondering why the Masjid’s in Pakistan haven’t thought of a solution to the shoe theft problem if it’s commonplace there?

Its not really an issue with Pakistan. In fact every place has their own thing going on. Turkey has tourist scams and pickpockets, so does London. Saudia also has shoe thiefs. New York literally has thugs roaming around in parks. The point is its not something that can be easily controlled and its not like it has a huge impact. I mean the country has bigger problems to worry about than shoe thieves. You have to be adaptable like people know how to avoid tourist scams so should one know how to avoid this. Maybe not wear shoes that literally come off as expensive. I know it may be different for your husband, its annoying yes. But its not something that should be taken to heart. Things happen, we cope, we find alternatives.
