Korean imagery / footage
I’m trying to find footage of Korea that is respectful of Korean culture for a music video. I wrote the song from the perspective of an American trying to relate to a different culture. If you’re interested, I can share a link to the song. My name is Matt Pond, I play music as Matt Pond PA.
Thank you!

Park Soo Keun - Tree and Two Women
I know this isn't the original, but wondered if any one had any insight into the text on the back. Is it just a print that the museum kept in it's collection for a time?

Origin/inspirations of the weapon from Metin 2 - Shaman's bell
There is a Korean MMORPG - Metin 2. Shamans have two types of weapon there to pick: fans and bells.
I'm very curious about the bells. I found out some info about Mudang Bells (무령 巫鈴) - they are close but still it isn't the weapon from the game.
Are there any other similar objects in Korean culture? Or maybe similar weapons from other Korean games/movies/comics? Or do you think this is just a design 100% made by creators of the game?
Pics of those bells below (from Metin2 wiki)

Vase by Korean ceramics artist Doo-Seun Kim
Hi, I have a vase that I believe to be made by Korean artist Doo-Seun Kim. I would like to contact her, or her agent to send some photos and request information on the vase (validation she made it, age, any unique details, etc). Does anyone have any idea on how I could reach out to her or her agent for info on my vase?
When searching online I have not found a way to contact anyone in regards to her work. I was able to find a few sites in English but nothing with contact info. There are lots of sites about her work in the Korean language, but even using online translators on sites that had this available, I could not find a way to reach out to her.

Translator for academic art writing
Hello all, I've just discovered this sub - please forgive me if this is the wrong forum for this kind of post.
I have a document written in English from a US artist, describing a social practice art project being proposed to Korean museum and educational institutions. I also have a rough Korean translation, but I don't speak Korean and don't know if the translation has captured the academic art tone/language properly.
I'm looking to hire a translator with a background in art or academic writing, to proofread and edit.
Can anyone here guide me towards a potential translator? Happy to provide more details privately.
Thanks very much in advance.

The work of a Korean artist named 'Park Saeng-gwang'
I actually want to collect this artist's work from a long time ago.But in Korea, there are many perceptions that his works are too fierce. What do you think? This painting is a traditional Korean shaman. As is the case in any country, traditional shamanism in Korea does not look good because of a kind of occult perception. And while his work uses only traditional Korean colors, it gives the impression of being dark and mad.He completed this style two or three years before he died. This story is like a flame to me.

Nice to meet you all.
I signed up today. I look forward to your kind cooperation. Looking around, many people seem to be curious about the art market and the actual situation in Korea.
I major in art history and I am in the art market field. I think I can answer your questions sincerely.
I also collect a lot of antique and modern art.

Art and artifact appraisal
I was wondering if there is a website where I can post pictures of old Korean furniture and other Korean artifacts (pottery, metal sculpture, paintings, wood carvings, etc) and people (experts?) can appraise it, discuss it, etc.
A few of the old artifacts I've inherited are Japanese but ended up in Korea accidentally.

Reddit is killing third-party applications (and itself). Read more in the comments.

/r/koreaart will be going dark from June 12-14 in protest against Reddit's API changes which kill 3rd party apps.
What's going on?
A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface .
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.
What's the plan?
On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love.
The two-day blackout isn't the goal, and it isn't the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they've broken, we'll use the community and buzz we've built between then and now as a tool for further action.
What can you do?
- Complain. Message the mods of r/reddit.com, who are the admins of the site: message /u/reddit: submit a support request: comment in relevant threads on r/reddit, such as this one, leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app- and sign your username in support to this post.
- Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join us at our sister sub at r/ModCoord.
- Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!
- Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible.
