Question Just Learned About this subreddit, how do I get started?

What do you suggest? I am a musician and I practice at the same time for 2 hours every day and Ive been doing this for awhile but what else can I do to improve as a human.

For no fapping, should I start immediately and go as long as I can or is there methods of doing it such as limiting yourself more and more than stop doing it all together.

Im also no athlete so if that is important then theres that information.

I would say start working small then go bigger. If you try so much improvement at once it may cause you to crash and burn. Find little things to improve upon such as going outside more, and work from there

The fact that you’re a dedicated musician shows that you have great discipline, and that means you’re already a leg up. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Start exercising by doing a few pushups, some core, and some light jogging, and work your way up to more intense exercise. Don’t be afraid to take rest days, especially at the beginning when you’re still getting acclimated to exercising frequently.

Also start to change your diet - slowly cut out processed foods and eat more fruit, veg, and lean meats. Use some sort of a food journal to track your daily dietary intake. The first time I did that I was shocked at how much sodium and sugar I was eating everyday.

It will also help to start reading more, especially during this quarantine. If you’ve never read any philosophy, I’d suggest starting with Meditations by Marcus Aurelius or Plato’s Dialogues.

When it comes to NoFap, it will take a lot of perseverance. Because of the way it effects your brain, quitting porn can be just as hard as kicking a drug addiction. Some people are able to quit cold turkey, some aren’t, but the important thing is that you’re trying to quit and recognizing the harmful effects. Personally, I don’t focus on streaks, I just take it one day at a time, and that has helped me a lot.

If you find it difficult, try cutting out porn first and then reduce frequency as your body adjusts.

Start NoFap.. Just start, don't set some ridiculous expectation, just try your hardest to stop. If you can't completely stop fapping, at least quit porn first and aim to avoid replaying any shit you saw in porn.

Start running and just accept that running is part of your life now. If you're super out of shape, start small of course, but definitely at least some exercise is a big part of keeping the system thriving. And work on improving your mindset. It takes discipline but it's not actually all that tough, because you'll find you're naturally tougher than you realize. it just requires you to actually make the steps.
