Discussion Helldivers-Helghast headcanon
I know it’s just a collab and probably isn’t meant to be taken too seriously, but I’m a lore freak and a huge fan of Killzone so I was thinking a lot about how an alternate universe version of the Helghast could exist in this timeline and came up with an explanation I really liked and wanted to share. I hope you like it!
In this universe, the same Helghan corporation which existed in the Killzone universe also existed, and fought a brief war against Super Earth. The conflict here was probably much smaller than the first extrasolar war was in Killzone, and likely ended quickly with Super Earth steam rolling the Helghast. The conflict is probably regarded by Super Earth as nothing more than a brief insurrection that was quickly dealt with, and they probably barely even consider it a war. The Helghan corporation and all people tied to it are exiled to the planet Helghan, where they are forced by Super Earth to colonize the planet and serve as basically slaves. Super Earth is able to get away with this so easily because the Helghast are viewed as traitors to democracy, and deserving of their suffering. Generations living on this sub-optimal planet leads to the creation of the same pale, bald, iconic Helghast race we know from Killzone.
Years later, the Helghast are united under Visari and break away from Super Earth. Supported by Ståhl Arms, they build up a substantial military and attempt to invade surrounding systems, their main goal being to conquer Vekta (or this universe’s equivalent). This is where things take a drastically different turn in this timeline.
Super Earth responds by deploying the Helldivers and the SEAF, who very quickly liberate all systems under Helghan’s control and successfully defend Vekta. Super Earth than invades Helghan. Events than follow a similar path as Killzone 2/3. Super Earth invades, Visari dies, the Helghast capital of Pyrrhus is destroyed using captured Super Earth nuclear bombs, and Super Earth prepares to completely occupy Helghan. Jorhan Stahl, refusing to accept surrender, kills Orlock and organizes an attack on Earth using petrusite as a last ditch attempt to keep Helghan free. Super Earth destroys the Khage, Stahl’s warship, and the petrusite is accidentally unleashed on Helghan instead, destroying most of the planet and killing billions of Helghast.
Moving into Killzone Shadowfall, the leaders of the Helghast “empire” are all deceased, and the Helghast survivors of the event known as the Terracide surrender to Super Earth. The survivors are allowed to take up residence of Super Earth colonies around the galaxy, and Helghan itself is abandoned and left as an inhospitable wasteland. Ståhl Arms is taken over by new leadership, and becomes a defense contractor for Super Earth. What’s left of Helghan’s military is disbanded, however the Assault Infantry are reorganized and attached to the Helldiver Corps. They now fight against alien threats for Super Earth, and therefore indirectly for the Helghast people.
Are there gaps and holes in this? Yes, a lot probably. I might also be remembering some of Killzone’s lore and timeline incorrectly, it’s been a while. But in my mind it helps explain 1. The existence of Ståhl Arms in this universe, 2. The existence of the Helghast in this timeline, 3. Why Helghast assault infantry are fighting as Helldivers and 4. Why Helldivers are armed with Helghast weaponry. It also provides some backstory as well as explaining why Helghan doesn’t appear on the map. It’s sloppy and off the top of my head, but I thought it was a cool idea!

Discussion If there was a comic book about Killzone, which storyline or character would be perfect to tell in a comic storyline
From what I could tell, there was no kill zone comic just a novel spinoff. But it’d be very interesting if there was a comic basically telling a story outside of the game, whether a prequel or something that was happening during the events of the game. I know there’s a war. Does that a lot with comic books taking place between games or even a massive prequel telling about a pivotal character like Marcus‘s dad

Discussion Helghast Alphabet Official Translation
DOESN'T EXIST. (Yet?)
So I snipped the text from the Killzone 3 opening as references for translation. Me and a friend tried to put the texts into ChatGPT o1 and it didn't find any sort of translation or correlations to any other language. Not that I was expecting anything because I have looked into it a few times and it didn't seem to translate into anything. But AI pretty much confirms it. Which sucks.
This is RIDICULOUS and extremely disappointing. I would totally get a tattoo or something if the Helghast letters actually translated into SOMETHING. I'm surprised they didn't make it into Dutch in reverse or something. They built such an awesome world that it's completely mind-numbing that they just didn't care about an official translation. This means all of the propaganda posters and any Helghast text anywhere in any of the games ever is purely nonsense gibberish. WTF.
I guess the closest thing we have is that fan translation that seemingly came out of nowhere. I guess they just assigned random Helghast symbols to English letters. This is what I'm talking about about:
https://killzone.fandom.com/wiki/Talk:Helghan_Empire
(Side note on that translation, the Helghast letter that corresponds to "P" is glitched or something. There are eonly supposed to be 3 points on top. Not 4. Not sure how that happened.)
Which doesn't really work since there's 30 Helghast letters and only 26 English letters in the alphabet. The last 6 characters seem to have sounds but is that based on anything? Or were they randomly assigned like other characters? Same with "III = KH"?
I did see that Slovak, Croatian, and German also have 30 letters just like the Helghast alphabet sheet so if we were to make a translation, it would be best to simply assign Helghast symbols to letters of one of those languages. And if we wanted to spice it up, make the words reversed or something lol. It would be cool to update the fan wiki page and make it official ourselves since GG never did.
Could we get this entire sub to agree which 30 character language/alphabet the Helghast letters should correspond to?
I'm just a mark for Killzone but does anyone else even still care at this point? I do. Lol.

Wanted to retell one of my all time favorite gaming memories
It was on the PS3.
Killzone 3 multiplayer
The map, I forget its name, it’s a city, rainy, cloudy, day time. Bridge overpass walkway. I think one side had some medical beds. (After doing very light digging, I think it was Salamun Market).
I was being a very cheeky helghast Sniper on the upper levels.
Constant taking out enemies.
I built up to my cloak being fully useable and good.
It got to the point where a group of two or three would come up and try (or succeed occasionally) to kill me.
I learned that if I knew they were coming, I could sit in a corner, turn on the cloak and I was essentially invisible. They even got to the point they had to slowly walk and scan the room and see if they could see me.
They could not.
I loved the thrill of sniping, and the being both hunter and prey.
Being considered essentially invisible in a competitive game, so long as one doesn’t move, seemed very cheep and almost unfair. Almost.
Being one snipey sneaky boy.
Anyways, just wanted to recount and tell yall about one of my favorite PVP memories I ever had playing video games.
Killzone really was ahead of its time.

Discussion Why i love the Helghast so much
Merry Christmas! as a way to celebrate 20 years of Killzone, i wanted to share my personal story of why i love the Helghast, and what they and this franchise has done for me! id love to hear your stories aswell
Disclaimer: this post touches on some heavy stuff, and i also know that the Helghast are the bad guys, but i just found something else i can relate to and appreciate
So at the time i got introduced to Killzone i was around 13 or 14 years old. I was growing up with Autism and Asma and diagnosed dyslexia at the time. So in short i kinda felt dumb, and i felt like a sickling. and i knew i had to work twice as hard to get anywhere. and i hated it, alot. but when i get introduced to Killzone and the Helghast, i didnt own any of the games, and i did not have a PS 3. but i just consumed any and all Youtube content i could find. and i loved what i saw. but it was not just won over by the gas masks, red eyes and amazing characters like Radec and Vasari. but i kinda connected to them on a deeper level, even to this day when i hear the Helghast speeches i almost feel spoken to, and i did so aswell back then. it was as if they reached out to me and told me to be proud of myself and that what makes me me is a good thing. I remember during the opening on Killzone 1, where you see the sick Helghan getting his mask on. thats kinda how i saw myself, due to allergies and asma, i would at times go in and out of the hospital, however i could use the Helghast as a crutch. for example, their gas mask was something i often compared to my inhaler, and instead of seeing it as a symbol of weakness, i saw it as part of me and who i am. and the way they were so clearly different to the humans was something i could relate to aswell. i also felt like a alien, an outsider who just landed here. perhaps one of the most powerful things about this, and one of the reasons i always keep coming back, is the speeches, and the anger and passion within them. it kinda became a outlet for me to vent my own anger onto, listening to the speeches became a way for me to cope because i felt spoken to while hearing them. it was a way for me to come to vent my frustrations with how the world just did not seem fair for me or others like me. in a way it gave me hope, and something to support myself with in my darkest of days
now i know what some of you might be thinking. these are the bad guys, everything i just described i made so that they can be an effective mirror to real world dictatorships. and while that is true, and part of the reason why i like them since i love history. i just could not help but see these other connections, whether intentional or not. and if nothing else, thats what i would call good art. even tho the future of this franchise is unsure right now. i see many wonderful fans make their own works, and i love to see that. i guess this post is just my way of showing appreciation and paying my respects to something thats had a major impact on me. the Helghast has taught me to be proud of who i am, and not to be ashamed, they taught me to be rightfully angry and about the reasons why my life in many ways are for no good reason harder then for others, but though them i have also learned what unchecked hatred can lead to, and i also see them as a cautionary tale. for closing thoughts, in case anyone from Guerrilla, or someone who worked on the games is reading. all i have to say is thank you for making some of the best villains of all time but in some ways, also heros<3
Glory to Helghan
And thanks for reading<3

Helldivers 2 Helghast division?
Somewhat a KZ fan (didn't play a whole lot, but the Helghast left a lasting impression with their esthetic), somewhat new to Helldivers 2. Was wondering if a division of helldivers was formed based on the helghast and wondering if they're recruiting?
Also, what do y'all think about the helldivers 2 x killzone crossover?

Discussion Height of heavy trooper and some other things
Hello everyone, first MERRY CHRISTMAS! 🎁🎄
Second does anyone have any ideas on how tall the helghast heavy troopers are?
Also I recall years ago reading that helghast are supposed to be taller and bigger than regular humans but I never got anything that told me how much taller exactly.
Also would helghast halfbreeds be possible pre shadow fall and if so how exactly?
