Am I the only one who thinks that the first season has different colors and type of film than the rest of the series?

I’ve been a huge faithful loyal fan of the show for 10 years now and I didn’t know this until now!
Ursula was already a real character from another sitcom before friends. Wow. Who else didn’t know this?

Question Why do the guys have a Red Wings jersey, especially if they're explicitly Rangers fans

I happen to like 8 year old boys.
I can't believe how well-known and prevalent this show still is after over 30 years. There was some random "askreddit" sub a few weeks ago with some question about "things you like that others think is weird". Someone commented "I love the smell of gasoline". I responded (of course) "you know that smell gas has? They put that in. The gas is odorless, but they add the smell so you know when there's a leak." I went back several hours later to over 400 likes, and replies like "that's some nice flirting" and "oh the humanity". :-D Of course there were also some who didn't get it, correcting me that they were talking about gasoline for a car and not gas for a home, but a lot of people got it just from remembering what I wrote from the show lol. I wonder how long it'll last, like 20 years from now if I can quote it and get a reply.

Had a Friends moment at my in-laws, but no one got the reference!
We had a ton of leftover bacon grease form breakfast that we poured into a to-go coffee cup to cool down. My father-in-law almost drank it thinking it was his leftover coffee! I said the famous line, and no one even registered it 😭 Here’s hoping y’all appreciate it!!

Question How much does the average American know about WW1?
Concerning the joke near the beginning of Season 7 Episode 23 ("The One with Chandler and Monica's Wedding: Part 1") where Monica, Rachel and Phoebe seem to be entirely clueless about WW1, and seem to think that the US fought Mexico.
I understand this is a joke, and is very likely not based in any kind of reality, but how accurately does it portray the average American's knowledge about WW1? I'm British, and where I'm from I would expect every adult to know at least when WW1 was (rough idea of decade/time period if not exact dates) who the Allies fought against (Germany, probably wouldn't expect more detail than that from the average person) who Britain's main allies were (Britain, France, the US and Russia) and to have some concept of trench warfare and the impact it had on men who were fighting.
Obviously the British were quite a bit more involved in WW1 than the US, with the Americans only joining in 1917 as opposed to 1914, and the impact the war had on Britain was bigger than that that it had on America. But still, I would expect the average American to know quite a bit more than what Monica, Rachel and Phoebe appear to. Do Americans not learn about it at school at all? Would be interested if any Americans could give me more of an idea of how Americans perceive WW1 and how accurately the show portrays this.

This shirt is of my favorite gifts I got for Christmas!
Designed and screen printed by my amazing boyfriend, who is also a Friends fan! I know the images of Ross, Monica, and Phoebe don’t match the episode the line is from, but I don’t even care because it’s just so perfect. ❤️

Discussion Actors who are mentioned by the main 6 who then later appear on the show.
Susan Sarandon and Alec Baldwin are mentioned before they appear on the show, and an argument can be made for Bruce Willis since the guys are such big fans of die hard - is there anyone else I’m missing who also qualifies for this?

Discussion Just realized every character is supposed to have their own kind of humor
I'm on my first rewatch of the show and noticed that every character has their own kind of humorous situations:
Ross: always ends up being a victim of something. A divorce, being mugged by Phoebe, etc. Also, his scenes almost always include physical comedy.
Phoebe: is all about the unexpected. You never know what her next line will be. Like when she speaks Italian or tells the group she lived in Belgium.
Joey: is frequently involved absurd situations. For example, the time when he threw a woman's leg into a fire place, or not being able to say "soup" instead of "noodle soup."
Rachel: gets into very embarassing situations all the time, like accidentally kissing her boss or wearing a very revealing dress at someone else's house.
Chandler: always get into trouble, but different of Ross his problems are less dramatic and unusual, like getting stuck in a public restroom with women's clothing or receiving smacks from his boss.
Monica: is insane. You never know when she'll get obsessed over something, be it a competition or a matter of hygiene.
I don't know if all of this is super obvious to everyone, but the show feels different after realizing this. What are your thoughts on this?
