How the hell do you unhide chats!

I was talking to someone and hit hide chat and don't know how to unhide it

They either have to chat you again or you can reinitiate the chat if you know the username.

I either hit the threads on the upper left hand side or I look up that person's name and it opens the chat up for that time and it's supposed to stay hidden until the other person responds or sends a new message
