Day 2 was the really bad one. Fever’s gone so now it’s just an annoying flu. I can only read so many comic books…

Enjoy! It’s a pretty cool game and I love the art.

Some people absolutely love it, for others (like myself) it never really hit the mark. It has absolutely amazing visual style and the music is exceptional. The combat system is also really fun, so if all of that is enough to get you through a game you'll probably love it.

Where I thought it fell flat was the storytelling. You have 8 characters who all have stories that are individually interesting (some are really good, some are kind of meh, but they're all well done), but they never really mesh or do anything interesting together. There are no interactions or relationships (I'm not talking about romance, I mean of any sort) between the eight characters. You pretty much just travel around collecting them and resolving their individual storylines and eventually an overarching one, but your characters basically never acknowledge that the others exist. Story sections are almost all exclusively about resolving the story for a single character and the other ones just fade into the background and are treated like they aren't there. I don't remember ever actually having one party member talk to another one. I found it really immersion breaking and offputting, and never finished the game because of it.

I liked it but except for secret end game content the stories do not mesh. But Octopath traveler 2 improves on everything and the stories do mesh. So you can just play that one.

I definitely want to jump into these games.

I like Octopath, but goddammit I wish the characters interacted with each other more than the tavern conversations. Not sure if they added that in 2.

So that will be about 1 battle.

Great game but the fights just take their toll, great mechanics but every fight goes way too long
