Not really a scam. Weight right there says 9.25oz which is a nice serving for low carb. Plus these things are fantastic when it comes to taste

The Café Steamers are all really good as well. I have an obsession with the margherita chicken.

My kid looooves the Mexican street corn one

Kinda stoked to see the love for these, they've been bogo at my publix for a few weeks and the protein bowls go unbelievably hard for so few calories and quite a bit of food (at least for me)

I'm really bad at eating more than I should and you really do get alot of food with these!

Ate a bunch of these when we were going through a kitchen remodel

Dump the contents into a Sautee pan with oil and some minced garlic.

In a few minutes the contents will look identical to the picture.

I don't see the scam.

You do realize you have to cook it, right?

On the back are the directions for the microwave.

Just sautee it all on medium heat.

Microwaves ruin everything anyways.

I don't know man, my popcorn does pretty good in the microwave, as do my quick baked potatoes, and at charging my phone thanks to this super helpful YouTube video.

Your popcorn would be better sautéed on medium heat. In a saucepan with a lid of course. Shake often. I recommend coconut oil.

Or get a whirly pop if you’re like me and have a slight popcorn addiction

Don't disrespect Chef Mic.

If your complaint is that the microwave isn’t able to sauté it… that’s kind of a silly expectation

Not a scam. The picture on the front is never an accurate depiction of the meal portion inside, nor do the manufacturers ever claim that it is. Food is packaged by weight, not volume.

u/snappy033 Oct 16 '24

Why should the picture on the front not be an accurate depiction of the meal inside? Curious on your reasoning.

Because people wouldn't buy it. Not saying I agree with companies advertising an image on the box that doesn't exactly mirror the product inside, but that's why they do it.

u/snappy033 Oct 16 '24

How is that not a scam? I can’t advertise a rotisserie chicken then just have sliced cold cuts in the box.

Because when the food is cooked from frozen and plated, it will resemble what's on the box. That's what should be compared, not the frozen contents to the finished product.

I see you’ve never microwaved food.

I have. More times than I can count. I try to avoid microwaved food these days.

The Korean beef one is really good actually

u/FloridaHobbit Oct 16 '24

These are actually good though. Is it the color that bothers you?

6

u/somecow Oct 15 '24

Not bad. But you have to eat like three of them.

24

u/boytonius Oct 15 '24

But why are you buying a low calorie dish and saying.. Not enough calories. Thats a you problem.

6

u/elisejones14 Oct 15 '24

Some even have like 180 calories for a pot roast dinner

4

u/somecow Oct 15 '24

Still healthier (and cheap). Don’t really want to get all my calories from cheese and grease.

Naw I get it. Sometimes when they are 2 for sales I will eat two and just get two different kinds that pair well together.

I don't know what you're expecting out of a frozen bowl like this.. it was always going to be shit

If it bothers you so much, then cook from scratch to your liking and stop expecting gourmet from a frozen dinner.
