shitty food Thought that the fish in nigiri was supposed to be thicker than this

The sushi at sams club used to be better a few months ago, now it feels like glorified rice

That doesn’t look like any nigiri I’ve ever seen. Any pics of before you bit it? A lot of sushi in my area has gone downhill in the past 10 years with a tiny layer of fish and a whole lot of rice.

Looks like someone slapped a flap of wet prosciutto they got at the dollar tree on fistful of rice.

I legit thought that was a raw chicken wing.

You look like you’re sitting at your computer, eating sushi by the fistful out of a piece of Tupperware. I’m not sure you get to question the quality.

Just because I’m a hermit doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy some sushi while in hermit mode, and honestly the rice itself was quite good

Is there a correct location to eat sushi?

it's like a layer of wet toilet paper, single ply

Are you sure that’s not raw chicken? Can’t even tell it’s nigiri

I can barely understand what I'm looking at.

I will say that nigiri is supposed to be eaten with your hands, not chopsticks.

I think all sushi can be eaten with your hands… it lends itself very well to being treated as finger food

I mean chopsticks are just the implement of choice right… it’s a bit like saying for the true experience of western food you use a knife and fork. There are lots of exceptions.

There’s also Japanese people who don’t like wasabi/soy sauce/ginger slices and eat sushi how they prefer it rather than according to any particular convention.

It's literally exactly like eating a sandwich with a knife and fork. Sure, you can, it's fine, but if you were from a different culture that didn't have sandwiches and you assumed you always ate them with a knife and fork you might get a comment from someone saying that isn't the custom.

Sam's club and sushi go together about as well as gas-station and sushi
