Question are flight simmers just never happy anymore?
"OP WHO THE F*** ASKED"
As we all know the FBW A380x recently dropped in an alpha stage after four years of development, and it's truly a remarkable add-on considering it's freeware. even if flybywire put a huge sign right in front of their face yelling " IT'S IN ALPHA" i feel like it passes right through their heads. While performance might not be at it's peak yet, it’s already a joy to fly for me personally, and the level of detail is stunning in my personal opinion for it's current state! now for my question.
Why is it that so many flight simmers never gets satisfied with anything they receive these days, regardless of whether it’s a freeware or payware release? i get that a product is a product and it needs to meet "expectations" and i understand the desire for realism and constructive criticism, and personally, i feel like the sim is in a very good state as of now. obviously flight model is varied from person to person along with wx systems, But what really gets to me is seeing the constant stream of negativity developers receive in their discords, twitch, online etc especially when they’re offering us such impressive products. I just feel bad to witness how much unwarranted criticism they face from ungrateful simmers, no matter how much work goes into these releases. I get it, it's the internet, someone will always complain but i am just genuinely curious why this seems more common now than before?
for the people who actually are satisfied with their products tell me your opinions of your favorite plane in your sim :) i'd love to know!

Question What are your thoughts on the A380X after a day of flying?
I'm in love with this thing already. For an alpha build of a freeware plane, the amount of detail and depth here is crazy. The systems work well and it flies great. I haven't encountered any issues with hand flying or autopilot yet. The missing INOP systems are relatively minor, it's great that despite this being an early version we can do almost anything you'd ever need in an airliner. I haven't really encountered any bugs yet, mainly just stuff that's clearly a WIP. Most notable is the window open switch I can click through the EFB screen (which I've done like half a dozen times now).
Performance is of course the biggest issue right now, it's alright on my system but it's easily the heaviest plane in terms of FPS in my hangar. Also had a CTD. To be expected with a release like this.
I can't wait to see where this plane is in a few months from now. It's so special what FBW are working on here.
What are your thoughts? Agree or disagree? Anything INOP that you're desperately missing? I'd love to know :)

Question What are the Common Day Jobs of Sim Pilots That are not Aviation-Related?
Probably most people who are really serious into flight sims are aspiring pilots or have aviation-related careers. But aside from these careers, are there other common day jobs of sim pilots?

Question Whats next for Fenix?
Now that the entire A320 family is in MSFS (rip A318), have they announced anything regarding future products? An A330/A340 simulation from them would be dope.

Question How is FS2024 running for you?
I know it may be a bit early to ask since there are still problems with the game right now. But i am planning on building a new pc for flight simulator and am curious how the game runs on different machines. So I would appreciate it if you can drop your specs and what resolution/settings you play at, and how many fps you’re getting!

Question Does flying ever get boring?
Just a question since I was wondering whether to get MSFS2020
Just the idea of the game sounds fun and all, but staring at clouds for 5 hours? I know flying in an airliner isn't exactly engaging ingame or real life, but I just wanna know is it truly worth 109$?
I will probably do other stuff aswell, just wanted to see what the airliner experience is like.

Question Lets assume Google announces a "Google flight simulator"...
What will it be like? Will it look better than MSFS? Maybe only parcially, if so, where? Would you possibly prefer it to other sims, if so, why exactly? This has been on my mind a lot sice buying msfs 2020 and I would like to hear some opinions. (Picture is Googles recent 3D data of my small hometown in Germany)

Question Calling all Flight simmers: If you could have 1 airliner, which one would it be?
Imagine this scenario:
You can only get a single airliner for whatever reason. Maybe you don't have enough space on your computer or whatnot. Bear with me.
Which plane do you get? What is the most well rounded airliner for doing long-haul/short-haul flights? which plane most is modern and maneuverable?
Until recently, I'd nominate the 737-800 for XPlane (removed because it's simulator specific. I didn't want this post to be specific to any simulator in particular), but I've been wanting to do ultra long-haul flights recently and it simply won't work (I'm talking +14 hours).

Question Austin Meyer Interview
I was watching this interview with Austin Meyer yesterday and he kept emphasizing that X-Plane is a flight simulator, not a driving simulator and as a result, the only scenery that really matters is airport scenery (since that’s when you’re “driving” the plane and looking outside). He said that when he flies he’s not flying around looking for his house (little dig at MSFS) or admiring the scenery, so as a result that’s not his focus when building X-Plane.
I get at the end of the day he’s building a sim for himself, but to me this all seemed a bit tone deaf. I’m totally with him about making a sim that simulates flight to the highest level but for me, half of it comes from feeling immersed in the flight via fantastic scenery. So I’m curious, is there actually a large portion of the sim community that doesn’t care about in-flight scenery or is Austin that out of touch with the community / consumer?
