Sure. Build up on your assumption. Your next step is to assume all Elon fans are thinking the same thing.
Then form an opinion about this, and write it in your brain in read-only mode. Have fun.
...I was mostly trolling (just read the meme again maybe?). But also trying to do some actual open thinking. Things were relatively peaceful regarding Russia since the fall of the USSR. Nato is now becoming an issue if we buy that their the reason for Russia's attack. If Russia was part of Nato, they wouldn't need to prehemptively attack other country to preserve a buffer line between them.
The other available option would be to disband Nato.
This war would probably not have happened at all then. The fact that NATO countries aren't able to send troops to help, because it would trigger all of them to go to war wouldn't be an issue. Instant alliance would be made without this stupid restriction, and Putin would think twice before doing so. Right now, he's leveraging this.
We're on the brink of either a 3rd world war, or witnessing the death of a country without more available options to help.
It's also possible Russia would be even more aggressive and try to take over the world if NATO didn't exist, but this is very much in the realm of wild assumptions.

What if Russia joined NATO?
