How it started: Musk asking Russia if he could buy their rocket.
How it's going: Musk eating Russia's launch contracts

Could prolly just buy all of Russia soon

That'd be nuts. Buy a couple thousand square miles in the tunda and establish his own nation to run Mars bootcamps and prototyping

Why give Putin money for more war. Better to just bankrupt the russian space program by making it obsolete.

They’ll never have a broom closet with as many broomsticks as us ever again

Why? Usually you buy a company to get something from it. The only thing the Russian space company has that SpaceX doesn’t have it contracts and Putin is in the process of gifting those out as we speak. No need to spend any money!

Musk to buy Russia. Currently negotiating price with the oligarchs. offering them 5 cents on the dollar. Musk needs resources for mars.
Just the part east of the Urals. The west part can go join the European Union and give up its sovereignty as an independent country as penance for Ukraine.

For what? The kids to play with? As much as I respect their Soyuz rocket platform, it's literally trash compared to Falcon, let alone Starship.

Elon: could buy Ukraine from Russia (because they think they own it) and, give it back to the Ukrainians, ending the war...

A novel idea but that doesn't necessarily stop assholes he'll get bored again and decide he wants to have a pissing contest. I'm wondering if he even really thought this whole thing is going to be is serious as all this or if he just woke up one day and said you know what?...... Today I'm going to be a jackass!??

I believe it could have been a mixer of all you said and, then some. It wouldn't surprise me if he gets I infiltration by one of his own, in his closest entourage.

What if Russia joined NATO?

u/Psychological-Task26 Apr 19 '22
Bro you cannot be serious. Nato was formed to stop the encroachment of the USSR. Why would Russia join lmao. Brain dead Elon fans

u/Life-Saver Apr 19 '22 edited Apr 19 '22
Sure. Build up on your assumption. Your next step is to assume all Elon fans are thinking the same thing. Then form an opinion about this, and write it in your brain in read-only mode. Have fun.
...I was mostly trolling (just read the meme again maybe?). But also trying to do some actual open thinking. Things were relatively peaceful regarding Russia since the fall of the USSR. Nato is now becoming an issue if we buy that their the reason for Russia's attack. If Russia was part of Nato, they wouldn't need to prehemptively attack other country to preserve a buffer line between them.
The other available option would be to disband Nato. This war would probably not have happened at all then. The fact that NATO countries aren't able to send troops to help, because it would trigger all of them to go to war wouldn't be an issue. Instant alliance would be made without this stupid restriction, and Putin would think twice before doing so. Right now, he's leveraging this.
We're on the brink of either a 3rd world war, or witnessing the death of a country without more available options to help.
It's also possible Russia would be even more aggressive and try to take over the world if NATO didn't exist, but this is very much in the realm of wild assumptions.
Chill dude. I like open conversations.

What if...
Elon just bought the rights to "Firefly" and announced a re-boot?
2
u/Alphafemal3777 Mar 24 '22
Before or after he bought the space station??
2
u/Heck_Spawn Mar 24 '22
He'd pass on that. He'll capture an asteroid and bore holes in it for folks to drive through.

Nah. It'd be like if someone wanted to buy your kid or pet - for no amount of money in the world would you accept.

A man who gave us under ground cars instead of high speed rail for public transit deserves to be crucified.
It increased the barrier to acess, is less efficient, has lesser capacity, and all it does it further cement cars as essential.

Had to vacate premises for changed perspective to reassess, assimilate , process new directive and what a b**** that was I might just say. Reboot ...sent Longitude and latitude by bird sonar as soon as I had changed location; necessary for processing new info... I'm okay but whew, wasn't that a nail bitter/cliffhager? Not not a movie I would pay for the pleasure of my personal willful suspension of disbelief that's for sure. Will send notice to birdies upon my return, eat, gathering new Tesla info bonus. Will explain.. think my supercomputer could use a little dry ice. But until then..

Think I'm understanding this better. I believe I can no longer be part of a blind experiment but I need to be educated to prevent future mistakes,... implementing better security system. I can't believe today is the fourth already..
