“Stop being so negative” they say

People will claim we're being too cynical and edgy or whatever. But the truth is that we're just being realistic. Truth is that nothing ever good will happen to ppl like us. Only kind of people who says it will get better has never experienced true sorrow.

People have a gigantic optimistic bias, they tend to dowplay everything bad in life, if not completely ignore them and then act like you're "depressed" or "negative" when you take them into consideration

People who say this are ridiculous, how am I going to stop being negative if I'm poor, live in a favela, probably have mental problems and no prospects for the future? It's almost impossible not to be pessimistic in this situation, every time I leave my home I see men armed with assault rifles, drug addicts.
