You know what I really love? The sound of a 6 year old kid getting mauled. Yep. That’s a great noise. Panic. Fear. Pain. Confusion. Wait. I really think that’s awful. You know what sound I really love? The sound of folks staying away from bears for the most part. Picking up their food and throwing it in bear safe cans. Spooking bears so they keep a distance from folks. I do carry a bear gun in the woods. I haven’t needed to use it yet. I hope I never do. The only probable reason I would though is because folks didn’t do their part before I met the critters.
You know very little about wildlife management and risk management involved. This is the moment they become a danger. It’s not the moment they need to die, but they can’t effort comfortable eating and taking from humans or they will become forceful about it. This is 100% the moment that they have to be removed from the wild. There is no coming back from this. Sucks, and it’s that person’s fault, but it’s also how it has to be in order to protect the six-year-old from getting killed.
