If someone did something the rink of yogi getting violent would increase, if the bear is chill no need to risk escalation

Not at this point. Bear just connected people with food and has no fear of people. Can’t be in the wild anymore. Has to either be captured and spend his entire life in captivity or be euthanized for human safety.

yes, the bear being near people is reason for someone who knows how to handle it to handle it, if random dude number 3 tries something it could be dangerous for everyone involved, so reasonably the right thing to do is record the incident as proof/for whatever distinctive markings the bear could have, let sir bearington eat, quietly get away and let someone else handle the problem

The correct answer is shoot the bear with something powerful enough to end the discussion instantly. Sucks, but he’s a human hazard and mortal threat right at that moment. I am a hunter, love bears and don’t fancy killing any of them, but this one has to go instantly.

that only applies if you have something to onetap the bear at hand at that moment, if you don't you gotta find someone who does, which implies leaving the area while the bear is distracted

That’s a yearling male. It’s going down with a CNS shot. You’re in a park with wildlife (I know…Mexico is totally safe from wild animals and drug cartels, so you don’t need one) so being responsibly armed is appropriate. Even openly. That said a moderate caliber like 10mm ends the discussion. Really, 357 on up does the job without question. You will not catch me in the woods without something solid.

that still requires the people there having one, which is not guaranteed

Responsible people have a means of self defense in the woods against what’s likely there. Blissful negligence to do otherwise. If I’m in bear country, I have a bear gun. No desire to use it, I really dig bears mind you, but it’s readily available to me at all times. Sometimes things go sideways and I’m not willing to die for a bear.

cool, you're not on the video, they clearly didn't have one, if they did then they didn't have training

With bear that small there is a good chance of the onetap to overpenetrate and hit the people.
