My uncle found a dog on his ranch and now the dog sees it as his home however he has a broken leg and my uncle is unwilling to take him to the vet himself. I understand the costs and if I had the funds I would take him but I’m out of a job rn barely getting started up. Are there any rescues that would take in a dog around the Modesto California/Turlock area? I just can’t stop thinking about the poor thing he has so much energy and while my little cousins were playing he was trying to play with them the whole time even though he was in pain. He would make a family very happy for sure. I just don’t know how to handle this situation. I’m willing to drive to any shelter I just don’t want him in pain.

I had to surrender my husky, Taika, yesterday. She killed the neighbor's chickens so I had to do something.
Worst experience of my life was trusting Gail at norsled rescue.
The experience was rushed and they dragged Taika to the back before I could even sign anything adding to the pressure of signing her away. They never gave me a tour of the establishment and were complaining the entire time about how hot it was.
I told Gail it was a terrible experience for me and she blocked me when she previously offered updates which was the only reason I drove there in the first place.
Only the worst kind of people can hold something you love over your head like that. Thanks for gatekeeping the right to see my dog again over a bruised ego, you hag.

She is currently located at: Animal Friends of the Valleys 33751 Mission Trail Wildomar, CA 92595
(951) 674-0618
Her ID is: 653828
Please call even if you’re not in the area. I’m working to find transportation.
The story: Four years ago we rescued Pepper from the dog pound, and we found the perfect home for her. The person who adopted her had some life changes that didn't fit with Pepper and found her a new home. Sometime later we got a call from a person who had found Pepper wandering down a street (This person was able to contact us because Pepper is microchipped with our information). She sounded like she really cared about Pepper and wanted to keep her. Again sometime later we were contact by Friends of the Valley about having Pepper in their shelter. It turns out that the person who had found Pepper wasn't able to keep her due to living in a small, studio apartment and found her a new home. The new home decided that they also couldn't keep her and surrendered her to Friends of the Valley, because she believed that Friends of the Valley was a no-kill shelter, which it is not.
We're unfortunately are not able to take her back, though if at all possible we would.
I'm looking for any help or advance you're willing to give me.
Thanks, Nick

Mods, please delete if promotion isn't allowed!
After a few years of working in animal rescue and realizing how powerful our community / network is, I started searching for a discord or similar place to share resources, help place animals, etc. I've yet to find one (that's active), so I started my own server. I'd love to find likeminded people in the rescue community who want to get involved and help grow the server. If anyone here is interested in helping out (or just joining, understanding it'll be ~crickets~ for awhile), please send me a DM or comment and I'll message you an invite link!

I am currently selling this journal. It is a great tool to record your pets life story. It can be used to memorial your pet and remember them once they are gone. 100 pages give plenty of room to add photos and caption them.
Not only is this a great product but 10% of received artist royalties goes to a charity called greys4pets. This charity helps rehome retired greys.

I’ve always been a big supporter of adopt don’t shop, having adopted in the past. Currently I live in an apartment setting with my husband and cat. I’ve been looking specifically for a puppy for the safety of our cat. The rescue organization rejected my application staying it was a concern I work full time. I told the organization I would be happy to drop off my puppy at my mother’s to play with our family dogs while I work. She said it was further a concern the dog would not bond with me. On top of this, instead of being happy the dog would be moving to a home with a yard in the coming months, I was told it’s a concern because the move will be a “big change” for the dog... now I never have thought of myself as a saint but I do feel I am responsible enough to have this puppy. I am a responsible pet owner, have never given my pets up for any reason, make a great salary, and put my pets on a pet insurance plan. Some how I’m not deserving of this dog? I feel like dog rescues push people toward reputable breeders or even towards backyard breeders and puppy mills due to their ridiculous criteria. I understand the world is a cruel place and they want the best for their dogs, but I want to understand why it’s justified to turn perfectly good applicants away?

Hey guys,I'm a teen dog rescuer and I'd like to ask for y'all's advice on a dog rescue.Near my home, there is this huge abandoned building that has a few apartment buildings around it.This is the place: http://imgur.com/gallery/kBqPbBG
So basically, right outside of that building there are two doggos. Both of them are living in terrible conditions, without even a house to protect themselves from the rain. All they have is a dirty bowl of water and random table scraps someone leaves out for them from time to time.I would like to take them home and adopt them,or atleast keep one and find a good home for the other one.The problem is that one of them has a collar but it's very dirty and old and they don't seem to belong to anyone.Should I take them?

I have rescued over 15 dogs from the shelters that were set to be put down just hours before, and I currently have 5, this is getting costly but I love doing it, my mission is so get every dog out of shelters and find them forever homes, if you support this cause 100% of the money will go to me building a indoor play pin for the 5 rescues as well as a outdoor border fence and this will also help me get more rescues as well as provide toys, food and proper medical help, it is difficult for me to save more animals because I work off of $9 Hr as a sales associate, please support this cause so I can help free more dogs and find them forever homes! Thank you!
