So I work at the local homeless shelter and there is this cat that came up pregnant and friendly so we decided to keep it around and feed it, the cat eventually gave birth and I rallied my co-workers around to start adopting the kittens, I took two, they are brothers and they are inseparable!

She has legit been obsessed with the bag. Purring and rubbing against it, constantly jumping inside or laying on top of it. I don’t know why I even buy things for her smh.

Cat Picture - OC Bittersweet Farewell…

It’s been a long & moving month since my dear girl adopted (non-violently!) her very own pet mouse. She patiently fed him kibble from her bowl, spent late nights listening to his light construction antics behind the wall, & let him go about his business un-chased & unmolested. Mickey Rourke-Mouse will be missed, but we wish him a long & happy outdoor life!

Mourning/Loss Is it time to say goodbye?

Post image

This is my foster, Boots, a sweet 14 lb kitty. Boots is a medical mystery. Despite the rescue trying all kinds of treatments/seeing multiple vets, he continues to have difficulty breathing. He struggles to take a deep breath and sounds congested most of the time. As a result, he cannot run around and play like other cats.

Boots is now on chemo as a last ditch effort, which has affected his appetite and has not provided any relief so far. We recently had to start him on appetite stimulants. He took the first 6 doses of chemo without issue, but is now refusing to take it. The only thing that helps is for him to take steroids daily which he has been able to take without issue. But I know that steroids are not a cure, but a way to bide some time and provide him some relief.

His vet follow up is in 1-2 weeks, and we will have to discuss his quality of life. I want what’s best for him. Is it time to say goodbye?

Medical Questions Why does my cats smell so good?

Upvotes

My cat regularly smells faintly flowery. But I rarely bathe her, i don't perfume her, i don't dress her up in anything washed with laundry detergent. Is it because she lays out in the sun?
