Humor Shitting
Idk if it's the right sub for this but WHY ON EARTH DOES MY CAT FOLLOW ME TO THE TOILET
It doesn't matter if it's 3pm or am and doesn't matter what he's doing HE WILL follow me to the toilet and start to run against my legs and ask for head pats...
Like he's not an overly clingy cat normally, he's alright but affection and all BUT MY TOILET TIME FOR HIM is the perfect time to get all the attention possible... Why does he even do this...
Does he think I need moral support while pooping or something šØ

Advice Should I change vets or was just unlucky?
Background
In late September, I took my healthy 13-year-old cat to the vet for occasional wheezing and sneezing. By early November, he has an eye problem, respiratory issues, and lost a nail. Although the eye issue likely developed over months, it's been a difficult and confusing journey.
I need to know if my cat is being well-treated and if his symptoms are normal. I'm losing confidence in this vet, who isn't my regular one, because I knew my cat would need X-rays and other stuff my small clinc vet didnt have, so I took him to a vet hospital. I apologize if my English isn't perfect . Now, I have to do a toxoplasmosis test and am unsure if I should look for another place.
Initial Symptoms and Vet Visits
My 13-year-old neutered male cat with FIV started showing respiratory/flu-like symptoms on and off. I decided to take him to the vet. Despite scheduling the appointment, we still waited for 30 minutes upon arrival. I noticed his pupil was dilated. The vet took an X-ray of his lungs, diagnosed a respiratory infection/inflammation, and prescribed antibiotics and anti-inflammatories for two weeks. They said to call if his eye didn't improve within two days.
The eye didn't improve, so I called the vet. They advised continuing the anti-inflammatories and scheduled a follow-up in two weeks. At the follow-up, a different doctor attended us after a 50-minute wait. They took another chest X-ray, noted slight improvement, and extended the anti-inflammatory treatment by another week. They also scheduled an ophthalmologist appointment.
Eye Examination and Issues
At the ophthalmologist appointment, in the same clinic with their ophtamologist after a 30-minute delay, they performed an ultrasound and diagnosed a growth/tumor under the eye. They suggested either leaving it or removing the eye but recommended leaving it for now. They mentioned needing an iris biopsy but said they knew no one in the country who performed it, but they could check for me.
Further Complications
Returning for the respiratory issue, I was told the previous doctor was in surgery but I could wait or see another doctor, I went with the new one. This doctor, after a 20-minute wait, checked the eye, noted improvement, and took a photo. However, he wasn't aware it was an appointment for the respiratory issue. Untill I asked when he was sending us off the room. Its like there was no comunication with the staff. He checked the records and noted no need for another X-ray because "the second one was much better" I said "it was the other doctor said slightly" he showed the pc were it said "xray shows improvment" and shrugged. He extended the anti-inflammatory treatment and mentioned possibly needing an inhaler if symptoms persisted. I asked if the anti inflamaotry and antibiotics could harm since he took them for like half a month, or weaken is imune system and he said antibiotics didnt do that ( I thought yes?) but the inhaler would be best even thou it can hurt the mouth...but didnt elaborrate further.
Incident and Further Consultation
Later, the ophthalmologist called, mentioning a nearby clinic for the biopsy. At a follow-up appointment with the ophtomologist (now the correct follow up for the eye) and after like 4 visits in 1 month I let my cat roam the examination room, they always said I could but I kept him close in the table, this time since it would be a quick ultrasound and go home I let him go to see if he calmed down, then her face goes white and says sorrry because he went under the tables that are usually covered but this time they werent...she goes to pull him out and he comes back without a nail and foor bleeding from it. The vet treated the wound and performed another ultrasound. Said sorry and send us on our way. Now my cat that went in for respiratory problems and had been doing meds for 3/4 of a month, was found to have a "growth" in the eye and lost a whole nail and had to use a cone for 1 week ....this all happedn in 1month. After 13 years! of nothing...
Specialist Clinic Visit
I then visited a specialty eye clinic in a nearby town. The specialist noted that the lens of the eye was detaching, likely due to toxoplasmosis. They mentioned needing to wait for it to fully detach before deciding on further action. I asked about the growth and he said "what growth" I told him the other diagnosed and asked if they didnt send the ultrasound, but they just sent "some notes on him" not is file or age or FIV status or ultrasound or possble tumor??! he cheecked a second time and said "I can be wrong, but im very very sure hteres no tumor, but Ill call them, straightem it out and theyll call you" .....they didnt call. I called them 2 weeks later and she said "hey so how is he doing"....he asked about the growth and she was like "yeah it looked like it was a growth but we werent sure but what the doctor said is probably right" ....I asked if the respiratory problems could be from the toxiplasmose, if the test comes out positive and she said "thats an interesting thing to check for sure".....(I SHOUDLNT BE HAVING TO THINK OF THIS WTF?!)
Current Situation and Concerns
Now, my cat has eye drops (Adrocil and Hidratop) twice a day.

Advice Hey, question about getting two cats together (first two photos are of the new cat, last two are of our old lady)
And just to let you know, I am a minor and still live under my parentās house.
Okay, so basically, the kitten is still in her months (I forget when because I have really bad memory) and I think our old lady is almost 10.
Weāre trying to introduce them to one another and our old cat is nothing but hostile, obviously. Cats are cats.
I just need advice on how to get them together so Rose (our old cat) is actually fine around our new cat. (Also, I have a close bond with our old cat, and recently I have been protecting Blossom [our new cat] from her. Could this perhaps destroy it? Just an extra question, lol.)
Thank you!!!

Medical Questions How does an indoor cat get FeLV? NSFW
Hi all,
I recently went to the vet as my cat was refusing to eat anything, and was severely underweight.
She was diagnosed with FeLV. We got a referral for an ultrasound but nothing has happened with that yet as theyāre all closed for Christmas.
Come 4 days ago, we find out the cancer is very progressive. Poor baby has lost vision in her left eye and a potential tumour the size of an orange around her kidney area.
We unfortunately have to put her down in the next few weeks, we wanted to get an emergency ultrasound but it is a minimum $3,000 and that is just to see what the issue is. So we havenāt gone down that route, as our Vet believes the cancer is going to kill her very soon regardless just because of how fast she is deteriorating already.
This leads me to my question, how does an indoor cat get FeLV? She has a brother, we havenāt tested him yet, obviously going to very soon. But we only adopted them 2 years ago and they were fully vaccinated and didnāt have it then. They spend time on our balcony but realistically no way of getting in contact with another cat.
Going to ask our vet the same question when we have to put her down. But just canāt sleep and hoping someone can bring me some clarity. Thank you.

Medical Questions Help me understand why my cat wonāt stop meowing at night?
So he would do this occasionally but it's much worse now. I'm getting ready to move so took apart my bed frame a few days ago and that's where he used to always sleep. My mattress is just on the floor for the meantime and I thought he'd actually like it better since he didn't have to jump so high up anymore. But now when I go to bed and random times through the night he'll come into my room and just meow over and over as loud as he can. I'll tap on the mattress for him to get up but he'll only do it if I tap by my face. And even then if he can't get to my face he'll stand on the mattress and keep meowing. He has to lay right by my head to be happy, and sometimes he'll move down by my feet and still be okay. But usually throughout the night he'll get up and leave and come back and do the same thing with the meowing. He's got food, water, a clean cat box. I know there's been a little change to the bed but I don't know why he's been reacting like this. Keeping me up and losing sleep. Anything else I can try, anything that comes to mind that might be causing this or could help with it? Thanks! If it matters he's an indoor cat and middle aged, about 12 or 13.

Advice Bird Flu Worries
So I just heard the news about bird flu infecting house cats through raw food and raw milk. My cats normally eat these raw freeze dried chicken treats, but I have decided to throw them away.
I also just went insane clorox wiping every shoe and mopping all of my floors with my girlfriend.
How concerned should I be ? Do I need to wipe down my shoes everytime I come home? I have severe anxiety and I did see that if I step on bird poo it could transmit, but of course I don't really understand because I'm not very knowledgeable on diseases. I saw some people mention they are going to leave their shoes outside, but that isn't an option for me because I live in a small appartment with two cats and my girlfriend. I'm freaking out here a bit, what do you guys think...?

Cat Picture - OC My inside/outside cat is now inside only
She is a 4 year old orange lady that was found next to the freeway at 4-6 months old. She is very vocal and likes to go outside and sit in the backyard/driveway. Normally she would go outside for an hour or so and then back inside. I would never leave her out over night.
I removed a couple trees in my yard, and now a hawk has been hanging out in the yard.
I show her the big bird and she thinks itās no big deal, but I tell her it could hurt her.
So now she stays inside. She gets upset at not having outside time, but it is for her safety. Maybe I should build a catio

Advice Is he too fat?
When I adopted him he was so small and skinny, but now he seems too big, I feed him once a day but his weight gain is still a lot. I just donāt want to make him unhealthy. My mom and boyfriend keep saying about how chunky he is, or that heās always getting bigger, but he seems like a normal weight to me. He definitely looks pretty big at some angles though. I got him at 8 pounds, I havenāt weighted him but heās sitting at 10-15 right now.

Medical Questions Cat trying to pee a lot
Hello,
Iāll try to get right to the point. One of my 5 cats, female 2.5yrs 13-14lbs, has been going to the litter box and squatting to pee a lot. With only really dribbles coming out.
We took her 2 weeks ago to the vet right away when we noticed this behavior. They gave her an antibacterial/anti-inflammatory shot. She seemed to be much better.
Fast forward to yesterday and she is doing it again. Our vet is closed till Monday on holiday and we plan to take her to an emergency vet. But has anyone had this happen to one of their babies? Or know what this is a sign of?
Thank you in advance!
