Advice Bird Flu Worries

So I just heard the news about bird flu infecting house cats through raw food and raw milk. My cats normally eat these raw freeze dried chicken treats, but I have decided to throw them away.

I also just went insane clorox wiping every shoe and mopping all of my floors with my girlfriend.

How concerned should I be ? Do I need to wipe down my shoes everytime I come home? I have severe anxiety and I did see that if I step on bird poo it could transmit, but of course I don't really understand because I'm not very knowledgeable on diseases. I saw some people mention they are going to leave their shoes outside, but that isn't an option for me because I live in a small appartment with two cats and my girlfriend. I'm freaking out here a bit, what do you guys think...?

I am also somewhat concerned - my baby doesn’t eat chicken though (and I don’t give her raw food anyway) so I am hoping we are ok on that front.

As far as your shoes go, what about getting a storage bin-type thing to leave inside the front door and keeping the shoes in that so he/she doesn’t rub up on them and possibly get exposed that way?

Just purchased one of those shoe storage bins, hopefully that will work. Plus it will have more room than my current open shoe rack anyway.

I have a picky cat who hates crunchy treats and only eats freeze dried ones. I'm going to try some normal soft treats and see how she likes them. We tried some pumpkin freeze dried treats and that was a hard no for both my cats lol
