We are still looking for a couple of my boy's toys it's like he sends them into the void.

We moved some stuff around fully thinking we’d finally find the lost balls to the three terrace ball toy. Nope. I’ve seen one of the two drop a toy in his litter box and definitely in the water bowl. Have bought a second ball toy to use as a replacement.

It's scary because Jax really loves his Bucky Beaver toy. It's the only toy he plays with. At least twice a day he start growling and picks it up in his teeth and struts around with it, showing it off.
I fear for the day when it becomes lost forever.

I'm a cat owner of a year now. Didn't know this was a thing until now. Her favorite toy disappeared a couple months ago and then i realized many other toys were missing. They are nowhere.

There’s a room in our house that we keep closed overnight. Every morning I have to go in there and rescue the 5+ toys that my cats push under the door because they “lose” them on purpose…

u/Future_Direction5174 24d ago
Yes, I am sure that my daughter’s void was deliberately knocking her toys under the fridge so that we would get them out for her. I ended up putting a small piece on wood across in front of both of the feet. That way they could only go under it by an inch.

We found 22 kitty spring toys under the fridge. I think Melvin bats them under there on purpose!

And how long did they stay “above ground?” I was once able to retrieve about the same number of spring toys from under the fridge, and they all disappeared again within 20 minutes.

Mine drag all their toys into the kitchen & immediately start batting them under the fridge. Like they don't even try to play normally with them, they just try to push them to where they can't get them.

Oh hey, this is my pic! Damn cute still, even if stolen and reposted.

I was gonna comment that OP should print and frame it. Guess I should be saying that you should print and frame it.

I think it’s a bot, look at the profile
3
u/BigMcThickHuge 24d ago
Absolutely a bot. It just has massive posts being spammed out hourly, almost no comments, any comments made are almost always deleted (mods discovering bot).
Money says it's one of the networks of the little fuckers pumping eachother.

I went to your profile as well. You seem like an awesome person! Very creative with a love of candy and cats. 🩷

The sad thing is this account has 13 million post karna, and only 19,000 comment karna. Says a lot. 😐

Those drawers come out pretty easily fyi, in case you ever need to look for something under there again, and with cats that's guaranteed

The cats 🤣 “hang tight buddy, the human is about to get it for us! Don’t freak out! “ what an emotional supporter 👍🏼

I've got books under my stove to prevent my void from getting her favorite mouse lost under there.
Before that, I'd literally have to fish it out a dozen times a day

We own a yard stick for this sole purpose. China hutch sweep, stove sweep, fridge sweep, wine chiller sweep. Sigh. So many mousie toys.

u/Emergency-Problem-15 24d ago
I do the same thing 🤣. My cats know when I bring out the garden stake toys will be found

u/HappyCamperUke 24d ago
And I know they supervise the work, right? Watching the whole process like a little furry micro-manager.

Are you aware the drawer can come out. The rails slide function just like normal drawer slides

FYI - That bottom drawer in the oven comes out and you have full access to the bottom of the stove.
I learned this when we redid the flooring in the kitchen.

"It's okay buddy, the big hairless cat may be stupid, but they're really good at getting the toys that vanish under the Forbidden food box."

Cats are incredible, royal, majestic creatures. Honestly, they never cease to surprise me. I think they are gifts from the supernatural world (if you believe such a place exists). Humans do not deserve cats. I love cats. The end.

Guys, I couldn't resist sharing this picture of my cat today! 🐾 Isn't she the absolute queen of sass in her little outfit? I can't get over how adorable she looks—it's like she knows she's stealing the show. 😂 What do you think? Would your cat ever tolerate wearing something like this? Let me know, and share your fur babies' pics too!

I think your cats are trying to tell you that there's a drawer that pulls out the bottom.

FYI for those in a similar situation: if that isn’t a drawer, it is probably just a panel that pulls right off with a gentle tug.

Awwww, look at the one kitty providing emotional support for the other kitty. Too cute! 🥹

That cat is comforting the other one. “Don’t worry whiskers , we will get Mr Fluffles soon”

OMG we have to do that all the time! And the cats love to participate, guiding the stick with their arms & helping as much as they can. And then, they hide it in the same damned place 10 minutes later. Because cat. And they love it!

Years ago, whenever I made a cup of Twinnings, my cat would immediately recognise the distinct sound of the paper tea bag cover. As soon as I would begin to crumple it, she would come running, even if she was upstairs. I would toss it up, and she would leap in the air to get it, like it was the very first time. She would chase it all around for a few minutes, until it inevitably went under the fridge.
All of them would end up under the fridge. Then when you pull out the fridge, there would be like a hundred of them.

I do this nearly daily to get my cat’s favorite spring toys out!
Pulling out the oven drawer should give you easier access to find the toys btw! Most of the toys end up at the back so I have to pull out the drawer so I can just reach in and grab them instead of trying to get them through the bottom crack.

I always find at least a dozen catnip mice whenever I clean underneath my stove 😂
1
u/DeadStroke_ 24d ago
You should be able to pull out the drawer in the bottom of the oven, then you can reach all the toys under there.
I do this every few months and always find a nice collection of toys the cats have been missing.

So relatable! I moved my oven yesterday for cleaning, and actually found 8 cat toys underneath 😂

Wow! How do you get 4k+ upvotes! I post about my kittie, and the poor guy gets only a few votes! Crazy! Really cute, fluffy cats!

That's cute! It's also me on a daily basis, but every time I reach for the toy my cats go demon mode. So it's not as friendly looking as these two.

I cut pieces of pipe insulation and wedge under stove, fridge etc to prevent these tragedies.

Pfft, amateur. Get a yard stick, it's perfect for cat toy retrievals.

In my house growing up, this would have been a picture of my mom fishing out a lizard the cat brought in that escaped and ran under the fridge....

I buy little rainbow hair ties at the dollar store so if they go missing it doesn't matter.
