Beauty & Hair 💅🏽 👩🏾‍🦱 Reviews on the Revair?

I just heard of this blowdryer due to someone posting that they got it for Christmas. It looks AMAZING. The price tag is expensive but worth it if it does a good job.

Anyone ever tried it? What are your thoughts? I'm thinking of buying one but would like to hear people's experiences.

Please put hair texture in your reply. I'm mainly looking for 4b/c hair but any reply would help!

I just bought it for myself in my journey to become a blowout natural. I've used it twice so far. I have Type 4 hair mostly 4C. My hair is below shoulder length.

I've been really honest with people that I don't think most people need a RevAir lmaoooo. I sat on it for a minute before buying. I don't regret it but many would.

If you already are good at blow drying, with a regular blow dryer and a brush, don't get the RevAir. You truly don't need it.

If you're looking for that very beautiful soft flowy blowout and you are able to do it with a regular blow dryer, don't do the RevAir. Get a Dyson or something else. Even consider a round brush.

If you don't have a lot of hair, I would think it's a waste of time.

If you can't see yourself using a blow dryer as a part of your routine, don't do it.

Now if you absolutely are terrible at blow drying your hair, but want to work with blown out hair, then yes get the RevAir. I can actually do a decent blowout with it. It took my wash day time down a great deal. The first time was about an hour and 15 minutes. The second time I was able to blow dry my hair fully in about 45 minutes. I'm still getting the rhythm so I'm going to start tracking how much time wash day takes but it's definitely less.

Before I use the RevAir, I have to make sure that my hair is completely detangled and plaited up and then I go section by section and I use my phone timer to make sure I'm not overdoing it.

Even though I have the newest version it's still really bulky. It's very loud. As far as the blowout itself, there is a little stiffness to it. It's the type of blowout that kind of begs to be styled (I hope this makes sense).

Why the RevAir, if I'm so negative on it lol? I love my twists on blown out hair, and I'm hoping to start doing more styles like bantu knots and curlers. I'm also hoping that having stretched hair will make it easier to retain length. That was the biggest reason for me to go in a different direction with my haircare. I'm still doing the same things, just on stretched hair instead of only detangled hair.

I have disabilities that limit my energy and my ability to do a really good blowout with a typical blow dryer, and styling in general. I've tried. For what I need it for, it definitely helps.

Thanks so much for the review. I don't plan on straightening my hair at all, just doing stretched twists outs and braid outs.

Sounds like it may be worth it for me. I got young kids so I can't spend all day on my hair like I used to.

I have 4c hair and I love it, it saves time and is less work than a regular blow dryer, but it doesn't get the hair as straight. I think it's best for people who mostly want to stretch their hair or dry it quickly. I like how you can just hold it and it kinda sucks like a vacuum so you don't have to do the tension part yourself and can just hold the machine.

I got the 2nd version of it and it's not as bulky as the original, but it's still super loud like a vacuum. You have to do pretty small sections, if you try to put too much hair at once it stops itself.

I bought it, tried it and returned it. I think it would work amazingly for someone with long hair or someone that’s not that great at blow drying their own hair or even someone styling a couple of their kids’ hair for convenience.

That being said, I didn’t feel like it saved me that much time for the price and I didn’t think it straightened my hair as smoothly as I would’ve liked. I have shoulder length 4c hair, but 4b in the back of my head and felt like it was great on my 4b, but not 4c.

I’ve had the same $50 Con Air blow dryer since college 15yrs ago still working wonders, so I just focused on improving my technique instead

I was so excited when I ordered this. It ended up being a waste of money. It takes forever to dry because you have to use really small sections and the hair is not that straight when done. I still had to section and flat iron my hair afterwards. I should have returned it after the first time I tried it. Now it just sits under the sink. It’s heavy and just not worth it. 4a/b

I love the idea of it. The reality is that I don’t have the patience for it.

My hair is Type 4-something. It is very thick and a few inches past my shoulders.

I have bra strap length 4c hair and really love it. I style my hair in ways that don't require it to be super straight (twists, crochet braids, etc). I also have carpal tunnel that flares up sometimes so it's great not to have to manipulate a different blow dryer. It's really loud and takes up a decent amount of cupboard space (even the second generation), but I've never regretted having it. I've noticed decreased breakage and no heat damage since I've used it. I spent a long time going back and forth about buying it and ended up buying it during their black Friday sale two years ago.

ETA: I also have a toddler. So I don't have all day to do my hair anymore. I haven't used it on her yet, but this would have been a game changer for my hair when I was young. It's so much gentler. It actually makes me look forward to the day I start really styling my daughter's hair (it's currently too short).

Does your hair ever get tangled in the blow dryer?

No, never. I do make sure to detangle well (especially my roots) before using it though. If I don't it's difficult to do afterwards.

I'm 4a/b, my hair is veryyy thick and on the longer side. I used it for the first time earlier this week to blowout my hair, and I like it! I thought it was easy to use and it blowdried my hair to the root, which was a surprise. However, the only 'plus' to it was that it was quicker and less tiring on my arms. If you're already able to do a good blowout on your hair, the revair isn't necessary.
