I know people don’t always read what goes under the picture. So here is the link again: https://www.thepinknews.com/2024/12/11/luigi-mangione-bisexual-unpacking-the-internet-trend/

Eh, I wouldn't really trust Pinknews.
After their conduct and their workplace culture they honestly lost all LGBTQ related believability for me

Basically:
Their CEO had a view that Pinknews wasn't FOR queer people, but simply about them and also that Trans folk are "too contentious a topic" for them.

And according to someone who allegedly works there it's.. rough. (Give the entire thread a read, because many of the comments point out things that are too lengthy to list here in one single comment (I am also actively playing a game and do NOT have the time to collect evertyhing right now lmao))
They apparently had a workshop, and considering that Pinknews is all about the queer community, naturally, the results of that workshop (basically a creative writing excersize to make up superheroes) were very queer centric.. which was then criticized by the CEO because they don't represent the mainstream audience, aka: Straight people.

I don't think it's a full problem with the entire company, but the senior staff and management definitely should not be running a site that is supposed to be all about the LGBTQ community

Imo, niche media -regardless of the specific niche; race, gender, sexuality, etc- is wholly incompatible with public for-profit management. Public for-profit companies are obligated to maximize revenue and profits, and that means maximizing the audience when it comes to media. This is all well and good for media intended for consumption by everyone. But when you're targeting, say, the LGBT community, a public for-profit company is always going to be pressured to begin targeting not just LGBT, but everyone else, too.

Typical CEO behavior. If only there was a sexy vigilante to take care of this problem

They said they weren’t going to cover trans stories as much bc it’s bad for business.

It's true, it's just way too politically charged

Leaving out trans people is cowardly
