Academic Class Registration Closed as a Transfer

Hey,

I am an incoming spring sophomore transfer into Marshall and due to clashing schedule with my old school my mandatory online orientation date was placed on January 7th. None of the classes I need for my major are open and I also don’t need any GE’s as I transferred most of my credit already. I heard USC sets some class space aside for transfer but can I rely on this? I also know many people just show up to class on the first day hoping the prof will just let them in, can I rely on this for all my classes 😭? Sorry for the long post I’m just really struggling to find a solution.

Do you have an appointment with a counselor to go over your schedule? I think you should have an orientation and your counselor should help you with your classes. FYI, they will still make you take a GE even if you think you’re done.

yes, they set aside seats for people for the jan 7 registration date. and even if u can't get it then, most likely people will drop within the first 3 weeks, and u can register for the course then. And typically professors will allow you to let u into their class for the first 3 weeks until you're able to get a spot

Pay for the Coursicle app. It is less than $10 and you get alerts when a class opens. My don always got the classes he needed at USC through this app.
