It’s a rebuild, so in year 1 I’m really just looking for us to be competitive in conference play and beat 1 of ECU, App, or UNC. Year 2 we need to try and bowl
(Also, feel free to join us on r/charlotte49ers and get the conversation going on there)

It was a good hire. But should expect to still barely get to 6 wins next year if that. Charlotte is in a bad place football wise. It’ll take time to dig out of the mess

I was hoping Deshaun would stay . Thank god our defense stayed , Balfour . we lost Omega Blake. However , I think Tim as head coach we could attract better players , let’s not forget Charlotte High Schools as they are top in the nation , recruiting from the city should be a priority , and then big schools .

0-4 OOC games for sure. I don’t see a way we lost 40 players and win any of those games.
Also for campus sports stuff there’s a forum board not on Reddit that is active.

You do not know ball. Our ceiling is 2-2 (possible 3/1), which a floor 1-4. We are acquiring a coach with actual success unlike biff, who is currently recruiting players that have production instead of just big school names. Do some research on the man. Monmouth should be a win, and app will be the tester of how the team really is. The only games you can basically call losses are chapel and georgia, but chapel is at home so there’s a small hope.

Albin showed promise in MAC, which is about as close to FCS as you can get in the FBS. He coached there for 20+ years and found success that he needed only by the tail end of his tenure. He recruits in the local area of Ohio because that’s where he’s from.
I think he can coach but I don’t know how well he can recruit talent that is needed at this level of FBS. Healy could coach but could only recruit FCS level talent, Biff couldn’t coach but was capable of drawing nothing but talent. The former was able to narrowly outperform the latter.
Any college player that feels they are capable of making it to the NFL will get recruited by Bill at UNC. Any college player that is great already plays for Georgia. App State just got a new HC who was an offensive coordinator for a P4 school.
We are losing 40 players this offseason, we just lost the best QB since Reynolds to the transfer portal. Albin will probably only be capable of snagging some players from Ohio.
Monmouth was able to beat FIU last year. Are we going to be a team that is better than FIU? I don’t know yet.

Don’t know if you’ve been following our recruiting lately, but we just brought in two solid qbs, and some good defensive pieces.

That’s been the story of this team for the last two years. I’ll believe it when I see it.

FIU has a worse all-time win percentage than we do. They are not a particularly impressive team to beat.

We did arguably the same against Indiana last year

They scored 7-31 against Indiana last year and we scored 14-56

You can’t compare scores across games, every single game is different

That just means there’s no comparison that can be made then.
How about the fact that we hardly beat a 4-8 FCS Gardner-Webb and Monmouth went 6-6 with an FBS win.
All I’m saying is that game won’t be as outmatched as you think it will be. The other three schools actually have historical success (which leads to player retention)

0-4 OOC? Monmouth went 6-6 this year in FCS and App isn’t in a much better situation than we are. 2-2 OOC is very doable

12-0. Realistically, our ceiling is about 6-8 wins in year one. The staff he’s putting together is very experienced, and all of our portal commits so far have extremely impressive stats. He’s doing the opposite of biff and going for players with proven production instead of former 4 stars.
