Honestly I hope this sparks some positive changes in the comments outlook. We make fun of these guys for being so late to the party, but no matter how long it takes it's always good to move passed hate and division.
At worse, I'll giggle at how long it took them to come to the same conclusion as the rest of us. Big question is what are they going to do now that they have this revelation?
They'll wait for the next talking head to tell them what to think. What, you thought they could think for themselves? If they could, they wouldn't have voted in the Orange Foreskin-Faced Man.
What would you rather do instead? Mock them? Reignite their defensive reactionary instincts and have them stop their change and dig their heels in deeper and hate you harder?
I understand being emotional about the pain inflicted on us but be strategic and smart about this. Don’t give in to the dark side of dumb defensive reactionary bullshit. Be emotional later, somewhere safe that won’t fuck up social progress, and be smart first. If you want to encourage a long-standing fundamental change in the way a people thinks you have to do it carefully, intelligently, patiently, you can shake someone and force them to see they’re being dumb. You have to encourage them getting there.
Shake them and call them dumb assholes when they’re being dumb assholes, but not when they’re finally making a change.
I'd argue it's a staple of conservatism to have somebody explain why one of your beliefs is bad, agreeing in the moment, and then immediately forgetting the conversation ever happened
I think of it as the inverse of the saying - "Everyone wants the government to do things for them until they see the bill." - Everyone wants their taxes cut until they see what they'll have to do without.
Yeah, "self aware wolf" is pretty much always meant as a one of sort of mocking someone for not realizing some shitty behavior they have been showing. This is almost the opposite of that where a person realizes some shitty thing that have been doing or supporting. This is the exact type of thing you would want to see a "self aware wolf" say.

Is this one a Self-Aware wolf or more of a aha! Moment, Because technically he did get there and wasn't unknowingly describing himself
