Looking to treat myself with a Louis Poulsen AJ wall lamp (corded) in my entryway.

Not sure what color I should go with if I want to place it above the picture. I am considering white as it would blend in most with the wall with the white cords. However, black or another color would create a nice contrast in the otherwise cold entryway. Your suggestions?

Would You Use a Sofa Take-Back & Upcycling Service? [Student Project Survey]

Hey everyone! We’re a group of university students working on a project focused on sustainable furniture practices. Our concept is a take-back system for sofas from a brand like Bolia (a modern furniture company). Instead of throwing away old sofas, the idea is that customers could return them to be disassembled and transformed into new products—like acoustic panels, art pieces, or other redesigned home items—rather than ending up in a landfill.

We’d love your feedback on whether you’d be interested in something like this. For example:

  • Would you consider returning your sofa (instead of selling or dumping it) if you knew it would be upcycled?
  • What kind of incentives (e.g., store credit, discounts, free pickup) would make you more likely to participate?
  • Is there anything that would hold you back (trust issues, convenience, brand loyalty, etc.)?

Your insights will help us understand the practical appeal of such a service. If you have a minute to share your thoughts or experiences, we’d really appreciate it! Thanks in advance for helping out students trying to make furniture more sustainable.

What to Do For Window Coverings?

Have been struggling to make a plan. These windows continue around entire room. Apologies for 2x photos. They also continue past far wall into closet. The current window coverings are there just for short term and hanging outside during renovations. Have considered all options. Right now leaning towards Roman shades in a light brown/beige or some form of bamboo. We don’t worry about privacy. Interested in decreasing sun light exposure but don’t need black out. Looked at window tint yet installer suggested against due to window style etc. thank you for any feedback.

Long shot: seeking for a 1950’s pendant lamp

Post image

Hej all!

Last summer I was in a Swedish loppis (thrift store) and found an amazing pendant lamp. But even before thinking of purchasing it, a German couple took it home🥲

After months I’m still thinking about it and I have to find it somewhere!

Here is the original picture of the item and I found one picture of it online;

Does anybody know the designer of where I can find one for sale?😬

Dupe for over-priced stainless steel cups

I love the look of stainless steel plates and cups. But some (many) of them go for €25 a pop. I'm trying to find a good dupe, that's solid (thick) enough. I bought some camping ones from Decathlon, but would love some more options. Any recs? :)

Seeking Advice: Bedroom Makeover problem with big Closets (Japandi Style)

Thumbnail

Thank you all for the wonderful feedback on my living room transformation! (Feel free to check out my previous post to see the results.)

Now that my living room is complete, I'm focusing on my bedroom and small home office. My home follows a Japandi style, leaning more towards Scandinavian design, and I'd like to extend this aesthetic to these spaces as well. I'm particularly looking for advice on:

  1. Closet Integration: The large closets currently feel disconnected from the overall design and appear somewhat bulky. How can I better incorporate them into the space?

  2. Artwork Placement: I'm looking for suggestions on both placement and style of art pieces that would complement the Japandi aesthetic.

  3. New curtains: What kind of color and what kind of style?

  4. General Improvements: Any additional recommendations for enhancing the space while maintaining the Japandi/Scandinavian style would be greatly appreciated.

Your previous advice was incredibly helpful, and I'm excited to hear your thoughts on this next project!

If you own any HAY tables CPH series, can you share your opinion?

Got a CPH 25 table with the black linoleum as a dining table and trying to understand whenever I need to get any placemats to product the surface or if it is durable enough for the daily use (hot mugs, dishes, utensils to be placed on it).

Would appreciate if you could share how it’s been holding up for you!

Help me find this chair

Post image
12 Upvotes

I was browsing on Pinterest, as one does, hoping to find some inspiration for barstools for my kitchen island and I struck gold! The only problem is, I can’t seem to find any information on these chairs. At first glance, it seemed like the GUBI Beetle barstool, but I don’t think that’s the one. Does anybody recognize these chairs and can help me find them? I‘ve been dreaming about these ever since I saw them and no other chairs have come close.

Authenticating an AP19

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi there,

I’m hoping to tap into the expertise of our Scandinavian interiors community. I have just been through the process of restoring a Hans Wegner Papa Bear Chair (AP19) which sadly had no clear stamp indicating the maker.

We’ve photographed the interior details of the construction, materials used etc. I am confidant that it is authentic but would love your feedback too. If nothing else, enjoy a look inside the exceptional craftsmanship of this Danish Modern treasure.

Thanks 🙏

Looking for an alternative

I am looking for a cheaper alternative for the hanging lamp „aim“ by Flos. Here in Germany several replicas are sold online. I wonder if someone owning either the original or a „fake“ version of it can give a hint whether Flos is worth the extra money.

Help us choose the perfect coffee table for our living room

Hope this post is ok and not against the rules. :)
My wife and I can’t decide which coffee table to get for our living room. The room is mainly beige and light grey wood tones with some black color in the mix (pic 1-3). We have two favourites for the coffee table (pics 4-5). What would look better? Thanks

Floor to dark? Just moving in

Thumbnail

Is this floor too dark for going with a Scandinavian interior design? I'm currently moving in and buying furniture and I'd like to go down that route but I'm worried the floor may be too dark? There are also walnut shelves which are nice but again dark.

I have a feeling the previous owner was into mid century modern, which I don't mind but I feel is starting to look dated. I'd like to not replace the floor or kitchen to save costs.
