"Sorry I can't join your posse and help you do your trader sale I need to sell these 1-star squirrel skins at the butcher because I'm desperate for money!!"

Even though some experienced players confirm they have never met this stranger in hundreds of hours of game play, I've been lucky (or not) enough to have this encounter twice in less than 3 weeks of RDO.

In the first time this strange visitor came by, I had recently started in the Trader role, so I was too busy to pay attention to him.

He was sitting by the campfire, an ugly repulsive drunkard, no good son-of-a-gun. As I had more important business to attend to, and he was basically blocking me from doing so, I just walked by and shot him dead.

Immediately after killing him, I felt that something wasn't right. I just felt a shiver down my spine. "Why am I always in a hurry?" — This though came to my mind.

Didn't pay too much attention though, as there were a ton of new things to experiment in the Trader role I'd just unlocked.

Spent the next few hours doing just what we do for 99% of the time in this game: grinding.

And the image of the beggar didn't vanished, it was still there, just in front of me. He was unarmed, harmless, but I've killed him.

After a week or so, I was still working on the Trader missions. I was just coming back from another delivery when I saw that same figure. The stranger was back!

Yet he was still the same ugly, drunk, stinking beggar, this time I didn't reach for my gun. He was once again sitting by the campfire, alone. Waiting for me, somehow.

I then proceeded to walk and sat by the fire, to listen to him and take a closer look. This was the moment where everything became clear to me.

I was so upset by killing him in the first time because it somehow relates to my past experiences in the Red Dead Redemption story mode. He somehow reminds me of Mickey, the homeless veteran that become friends with Arthur, back in Valentine.

He was there speaking nonsense, but I was gladly listening. In some weird way, I felt that we were Arthur and Mickey. Two complete strangers, that somehow connect.

"Most folk won't spare me the time of day." — it's a quote from the veteran that I will hardly forget.

Now, coming back to the stranger sitting by my campfire, I decided that I should (quoting Sister Calderon's) <<Take a gamble that love exists, and do a loving act>>. — And then, I shot the motherf*cker dead.

No, I'm just kidding! We shared some food, he talked a couple of things, to then peacefully walk away, promising he would come back soon.

I even managed to take a nice screenshot of this moment to share with you guys.

The lessons that I learn from this game... This is why I love RDR!

My old heritage was 3 and I had her age set to 27, I changed her age to 34 and then changed her heritage to 16. I wanted her to look more time period friendly and I hope I achieved it.

I really want the bounty hunter role but I can't afford it and I don't know how to get the gold.

Hey everyone, I'm sure this question is asked a lot but finding decent answers on Google seems to be impossible nowadays.

I finished Rdr2 4 times now. Game is insane, love it. Obviously the game is not meant to be hard and I like it that way.

Finally decided to jump into Online.

I know the game is a grind, there are hackers, everything is expensive, even the snow (right now) is a bummer.

But besides all that, my question is, are the missions always this hard?

I've been really struggling getting through most of them. I don't understand if there's a particular way to do them, if I'm dumb or something.

Talking about solo missions, where there are dozens of enemies, infinite lawmen, then you have to rescue/escort some dude, all the while every enemy needs about 6 shots to die, have insane accuracy, move at the speed of light and I can't do squat.

I am playing on mouse+keyboard. But hell, I play CS2. I think I'm a pretty good shot.

What could I be doing wrong?

P.S. I intentionally do only Standard level missions and even those are extremely hard. Help me! Thanks.

I play some hours a day featured series. I‘m having this problem sometimes that I can’t move like in the video. I have to find another lobby and join again what’s taking a lot of waiting time. Is it a modder who is stunning me? I have to say that I’m everytime on top of the leaderboard and I’m believing someone is just pissed about me. Or is it a bug? Only seen it once at a teammate who was facing the same problem.

Deleted my old character at lvl 168. Got bored and wanted to start new again, so far lvl 30 and I'm finding the game fun again.

Does it work for you?

I can make a solo lobby with it, but can't connect with anyone with the same hash as me. It says "incompatible assets". It's the same startup.meta that I use with my friends when playing on PC.

There's me and another friend using the Steam Deck and having the same problem. The file is the same (saved as All Files), the path is correct within the game files.

Me and my friend using both Steam Decks also can't connect to each other, so I'm not sure this has any to do with a Linux/Windows compatibility, too.

Have you ever been in this situation? Am I missing something? As a Steam Deck user, have you ever played on a private lobby with friends?

For example the glasses in the naturalist outfit. Besides the glasses and the hats is that it? Or are there any other outfits that add pieces.

This might just be a psychological thing on my part but since December started and snow has covered the whole map, has anyone else experienced a very low spawn rate for small animals like Squirrels and Chipmunks?

I've been scrapping by with small birds, mangy rats, bats and frogs/toads for small animal challenges but I haven't seen any Squirrels for a week or two now. Which was annoying as their was a daily challenge not that long ago where you needed to collect Squirrels.
