mod Christmas Day Preparation

The day we've all been waiting for is right around the corner! In preparation for Christmas Day posts, here are some tips to help everything go smoothly.

Thank you posts:

First, a reminder that a Christmas thank you post with pictures is a requirement of participating in RAoC.

Pictures:

  • Imgur is the most popular way to link a picture on reddit, but you are welcome to use any image hosting service that works for you to post your pictures.
  • Here is an Imgur album on using Imgur. It's Imgur Inception!
    • Note this tutorial is for the app, so you may need to download it first.

Tagging Santas:

  • Tagging only works on reddit if you do it in a comment
  • Comments only allow you to tag three users at a time
  • To "summon your Santas" post a comment with u/Santasusername in a comment on your post.
    • For example u/0hn035 in a comment would give me a notification. Doing it in a post will not.
  • Repeat for as many comments as needed to tag all your Santas.
    • Ex: if you have 9 Santas you'll need 3 comments with 3 Santas tagged per comment
  • If you're not sure who sent a gift, send us a modmail!
  • Don't worry too much, the mods and other users sometimes jump in to help out if tags aren't working.

thanks Thank you to RAoC Santa’s for a wonderful Christmas

I hope everyone here had a great holiday season! Thanks to this subreddit my kids had a wonderful Christmas like they normally would! They are both really good kids and we weren’t sure how to make Christmas happen after my husband became disabled and is no longer able to work this year.

Seeing my kids excited and happy Christmas morning, truly lifted my spirits. My husband kept saying “wow, I have never experienced anything like this before. People truly care.” As the Amazon packages were arriving!

Here is some photos from their Christmas. Sorry the lighting was awful in a few of them.

Thanks for the stocking stuffers, they loved everything. It was more than I expected and my daughters didn’t fit in her stocking so some of it was a bonus gift! They ate all the treats out of it almost immediately!

Also thanks for the remote control spider, my son got a kick out of it and was playing with our cats yesterday with the spider. He has been wanting a pet tarantula for awhile, but my arachnophobia won’t allow that!

u/Songlcy4058

Thanks for the contest for the Mini squishmallows, she is squishmallow obsessed and was so excited!

u/Yellow_Submarine8891

Thanks for the Rainbow High Sunny doll. She loves those dolls and exclaimed “wow she is beautiful” when she opened it!

u/Miss_Ann_Thrope55

Thanks for the Sink and Sand for John. He has been asking for this game for months after playing it somewhere else!

And Lucy loved her Rainbow High Violet doll. This doll completed her collection (one of each character).

u/Careless-Act-5416

Thanks for the pjs for John. He said “these are so cute and they have little moose ears.”

Lucy loved her Rainbow High Ruby Red doll, she said “Red is my favorite color and now I finally have her”.

We had two gifts show up anonymously. Whoever purchased these gifts, thank you. These were both gifts my kids wanted to fit in with their friends. John was so excited for his adidas jacket and Lucy squealed that she got the Stanley cup she has been asking for months!

u/laffinalltheway

Thanks for the axolotl blankets. They both love axolotls and these blankets were super soft! They both slept with their new blankets last night.

u/JMTC789

Thanks for the Nightmare Before Christmas advent calendars, it is one of our favorite movies and they loved the countdown!

thanks Thank you to Santa

Thank you so much to Santa u/Mean-Problem-2420 for making my Violet’s Christmas day possible! She is in love with everything and I can’t thank you enough. It’s so very hard to come here and ask for help. But I am blown away by the kindness shown to my family. Inspired by Santa and everyone on this sub, I am hoping to be able to contribute the same kindness that I have seen first hand. I wish everyone have a merry Christmas and a happy new year! I very much look forward to the new year and what great things it will bring to us all! Thank you to my child’s Santa and to all the Santa’s that made children’s wishes come true for Christmas ❤️

Silas, in his new pajamas, playing with his favorite new toy. My thanks is far beyond what I can express, please don’t mind my Christmas filled living room. I wish I could share pics of them actually opening things, but i thoughtlessly let them rip into their gifts without being fully dressed. My heart is so full of joy and gratitude ❤️💚

Hey guys!!! My daughter has been SUPER busy we've been trying to do no screen time and use these last 2 days to just play all day! I snuck in the bathroom to make this post 😆 I'm making my huge thank you later when my girlie is asleep! We have a little guest over who celebrated Christmas with us also! (She's 2) so I've been on my tipple toes the last few days!

I really need to say thank you again. Seeing my kids so happy this Christmas has really been such a good distraction. One I needed more than I knew. My favorite person in the whole world passed away Sunday before Christmas and I have just been devastated. My grandpa was so much more than a grandpa to me and I have just been broken about it. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I am a "fake it till you make it" kind of person but I was worried I'd not enjoy my time with the boys as much or they would know how sad I really was/am.

Jamie's absolute delight in his brother getting the Picasso tiles was so surprising. He was excited to build with Azi and to let Azi 'godzilla' everything once he was done. It was and continues today to be so heartwarming, the boys laughing and playing TOGETHER is so great.

Azariah REALLY loves the play food. I think his favorite part is there are SO MANY pieces that he can throw all around the living room. My house may be a mess but he's having a great time. And the dare devil he is, he uses the table as more of a climbing toy at the moment, you'll see that in the below photos.

I want to say thank you again, each and everyone here. Santas, Mods, even fellow requestor, you have made this Christmas really special. I'll never forget this. I promise.

thanks A belated thank you Santa round up!

Although I thanked each Santa as soon as each gift was received, I wasn't posting individual photos to the group because I was experiencing what has now been named The Migraine from Hell ™, which lasted for 17 days and required lots of different meds. I had a great 5 days to play catch up on everything I couldn't do for 17 days and during that time, someone gifted me with something respiratory which started very late Sunday night. I got a telehealth visit in, tested negative for Covid, and was told it was probably bronchitis, aka The Christmas Virus which sounds like an awful name for a Hallmark holiday movie. I'm on antibiotics now and hoping to be well in a few days.

In the mean time, this is my belated thank you to all of the incredible Santas who helped make Rosalind's Christmas and Hanukkah so special this year. I am attaching a short video of all of the gifts received up until Monday, when I pretty much fell apart. A couple arrived after that. I'm going to tag everyone in the comments, so please bear with me.

Actual Christmas photo will be posted later, as everything is moving in slow motion here.

My amazing Santa team brought the following gifts:

u/YellowSubmarine8891 gifted some adorable Croc charms which she absolutely loved!

u/0hn035 gifted a huge box of what were listed as stocking stuffers, but what are Rosalind's 8 nights of Hanukkah gifts. The Fart mug was for Night 1 and she laughed so much!

u/thebookelves gifted her a card of assorted earrings which she's already picked favorites out of.

u/ahopefulb3ing gifted 2 PS4 games for the surprise family gift that I'd found of someone giving away a PS4 player. She's so excited that they're like her old Xbox 360 games.

u/Careless-Act--5416 gifted a wild pair of silver Crocs and more Croc charms. She went nuts!

I had two (or one?) true Secret Santa who didn't leave behind any identifying forensics. They gifted an LA hoodie sweatshirt and a blue/purple ombre water bottle that she's wanted for over a year. She was thrilled that it came with a bottle brush to get it properly clean.

u/JMTC789 gifted a red and black checkered onesie pajamas which will keep her toasty on our move from FL to PA. It's soft! They are also gifting Rosalind with winter jackets after the holidays from their daughter.

u/School_House_Rock made sure that my adult daughter and me would also be warm when we move and graciously bought us coats and snow boots. They also added a pair of snow boots for Rosalind. She adores the fur on them.

u/scarletglimmer gifted her an otter lap blanket which is ridiculously soft and she hasn't stopped wearing.

u/laffingalltheway gifted us with a tin of cookies from Cheryl's Cookies. The company name was on the box so the surprise was not possible. They were discovered before I got to the door. And yes, ohmygoodness everyone enjoyed them so much!

u/SongIcy4058 gifted us a rare night out to eat. This will be very special because it's one of our favorite restaurants in this city I've lived in for 40 years, and it will be a bittersweet sendoff dinner for us before we leave on our new adventure.

Thank you to each and every Santa and mod who made our holidays so much more special!

Hopefully not too many typos along with my coughing.Ignore them if they're there please?

Thank you to our wonderful Santas! I hope you're all having a wonderful holiday season, full of love and joy.

u/calebs_dad - the boys absolutely loved their T-Rex and Barcelona soccer balls! José loves dinosaurs and Carlitos loves Barcelona team, so they're both ecstatic. Thank you for a gift that will help us keep them active and playing outdoors ⚽️

u/JMTC789 - both boys were super excited to receive the sleeping bags. Carlos is veeeery excited to go camping, and I'm sure we will be going as soon as it's warm enough to take them because he's so excited he will keep reminding us until we actually go. Thank you for a gift that will allow us to explore the great outdoors.

u/kanga_roos - thanks for the space books! The book contest was wonderful, and both boys were so happy to receive a book amongst their gifts. They're both excited to learn about space so that when we go camping with @JMTC789's sleeping bags we can observe the night sky and put that into practice. Thank you for a gift that fosters learning about space and their love of reading.

u/laffinalltheway - the magnetic tiles and stacking rocks were a hit! The boys are sharing these and it was so fun to see them working together. Thank you for these toys will help them both with their motor skills and spatial awareness skills, and they're super fun!

u/0hn035 - we already played Mouse Trap, and it was as fun as I imagined it would be. Thank you for such a fun contest, and helping us create memories as a family.

u/Careless-Act-5416 - last but certainly not least - thank you for Carlitos' storybook kit and mini soccer set. He was so excited to receive the mini soccer set, because that's the one item he had asked for since he used his old one every day. He was also sooo excited for the storybook kit - when he understood that he gets to both write and illustrate his own stories, his eyes lit up with creativity. I am so excited to see what he comes up with!!! Additionally, thanks for José's ball drop toy and Crayola sensory pad. With his autism, these sensory toys have captivated his attention and have him suuuuper excited and experiencing pure joy.

Thank you all, including moderators and just everyone that is a part of this. We are blessed to have you, thank you for allowing us to give our children a magical Christmas when it has been such a hard year financially and with my health struggles. Thank you, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! https://imgur.com/a/Nfe01LK

Good morning! As promised, i have pictures and videos to share! My daughter was pretty sick Christmas morning, so please don't mind her eyes in the pictures. She was a trooper for how she was feeling. They all loved everything so much, and a big thank you to all the Santas apart of this sub. Your kindness is so appreciated, and I hope this new year is amazing to you. I am so thankful for the friendships I've made. There's something wrong with our tablet, so unfortunately, they didn't get to play with it yet, but it was a huge blessing. Thank you so much u/bengtc

I'm so thankful for the stockings. They absolutely loved everything, and you didn't miss a single item to make the perfect stocking!! I'm grateful. Thank you u/0hn035

The girls LOVED their blankets. Those were NICE blankets! One glows in the dark and has butterflies, and it goes perfectly with her new butterfly lights in her room, from u/AnyOtherSummer Thanks for the blankets u/School_House_Rock

Thanks u/Careless-Act-5416 for the Barbie phone. Thanks u/AnyOtherSummer for the shimmer markers. They are really cool, and Amelia loves them. And the nightlights are so cool. Thanks u/Character_Report6856 for the bluey tea set and the nail care set for Isabella. She set up all her bluey animals and served them all tea Christmas morning. Thanks u/binary_search_tree for the SKATEBOARD!! I started recording, and it stopped because my memory was full 😭 but she almost cried. She couldn't believe it. THANK YOU. Aviana loved the kitty pillow. And they had so much fun playing with the miniverse toys! Aviana got a cappuccino maker and made little cups of coffee.

I will never forget any of you! You showed me kindness and compassion, and I'm blessed. I hope you all have the best new year. I attached some pictures and videos from Christmas morning 🫶😊

I can't tell you what a great Christmas we had, thanks to you both /u/jjwinc68 and /u/school_house_rock!

It started VERY early. I fell asleep on the couch last night, and woke up just before three o'clock in the morning, thinking I could head off to my comfy bed and finish my full night's sleep. Malcolm had other plans. He took my falling asleep as a sign that he could stay up, so he intercepted me and asked if he could open his presents since it was actually Christmas morning. When I say that sometimes I think he's 17 going on 12, this is what I'm talking about!

His excitement could not be denied, so I armed myself with a cup of Tim Horton's French Vanilla Cappuccino (a special treat from my last grocery trip that I saved for today), and the opening of the presents began!

Pictures here.

/u/jjwinc68, Malcolm was absolutely blown away to learn that you sent him NINE of the ten items on his wishlist! He kept saying "I can't believe this is all from one person!" He was hoping for a few things, and I didn't wrap them and put them under the tree until Christmas Eve, so he was so surprised to see so many things to open! He asked me many times to pass on his genuine thanks for your generosity.

The wallet: Man alive, was this kid excited about this wallet! As he was transferring his things from his old one, he explained to me exactly why he loves it. The part that flips out now holds his bus pass, and you would think it was a miracle of modern technology the way he talked about it! Having to remove the pass from your wallet is apparently quite taxing for the modern teenager, but those days are done thanks to this brilliant wallet. And the way his ID and cards fit in is perfect, according to him. He explained why and showed me the difference between his old wallet and the new one, but you'll have to take his word for it because it escapes me. Just know that Malcolm loves this gift so much!

The phone chargers: Malcolm goes through phone charges like you wouldn't believe. He claims it's because he takes the same ones with him wherever he goes, not just to school and back but from room to room. So he says having these two extras means he can keep one at school, one in his gym bag (he uses the gym at his school so I'm not sure why he needs a different one for that, but Gen Z gonna Gen Z), one for his bedroom, and one for the living room. He's already packed them into his school bag in preparation, so you know he's excited about it!

The ear buds: Finding the perfect ear buds is a big deal to Malcolm, and these seem to fit the bill. Earlier this year a friend gave him some expensive ones, but they didn't last long and he says these are far superior in both comfort and sound quality. He even loves that they're black instead of white. He went for a walk and listened to music with them, and had some voice chats with friends, and came home talking about how great the sound is! Thank you from the bottom of my son's ears!

The hat hooks: Malcolm gets a lot of hats from the various Little Leagues he umpires for in the summer, and has been wanting to hang them up properly in his room. These hat hooks might seem like a small thing, but you should know that he rearranged all of his furniture so he could put them up in the exact right place to properly display his hats! This small thing brought him a great deal of joy, so thank you for that!

The tool kit: I tried to get decent pictures of him opening this present, but he was so excited about it he wouldn't hold still, so they're really blurry! He immediately went through everything in it and kept saying things like "Oh, this is perfect", "Cool!", and "Yes! It has an extender!". It inspired him to dig out some old shelves and hang them in his room, so he's already put it to good use. Next step: returning all of my crappy old tools that seem to get lost in his room, lol. This gift was absolutely the most exciting for him - thank you so much for that!

The umpire clicker and plate brush: Malcolm was so pleased with both of these things. The brush has a ridge that makes holding/using it so much easier, and is far better quality than the ones they usually give him to use. He's even thrilled with the sound the clickers make! The baseball season is months away, but these things got him so excited for it he packed his umpire bag already in preparation!

The drawing tablet: Wow, does Malcolm ever love this! He's already put it to use for drawing, but was especially pleased that it's OSU compatible. That's a game he likes to play, and it was the first thing he did with it. He says his hand would cramp when playing that or drawing, and emerged from his room later to tell me to tell you that his hand thanks you!

The blue shirts: Malcolm has been wearing one of these since he unwrapped them. He says it's the perfect shade of blue, and he loves that they're all cotton. He's only recently decided that blue is a good colour for him, but he's very particular about it - no navy, no royal, no cyan, it can't be too bright or too dark, etc. These shirts are like the sky before a storm, and he's right - it looks so good on him!

/u/school_house_rock, he couldn't believe the trouble you went through to fulfill that last item on his wishlist! He knew these were coming because we'd talked about choosing something fun, but he hadn't realized that his wishlist was already fulfilled when you decided to get him that one last item, or the troubleshooting it took to make it happen, lol.

The olive green T-shirts: Malcolm tried these on with just about every pair of pants he owns! The verdict was that they go well with everything from jeans to sweatpants! These ones are heathered and softer than the others he'd chosen, so this really worked out well. We had talked about how he said wearing something other than black or white was fun for him, and his excitement over these shirts really drove that home! Thank you so much from both of us for going that extra mile to make him happy!

It's not an easy thing to not be able to provide Christmas presents for your child, even when that child is a teenager. You two have not just provided a wonderful Christmas for Malcolm, but you eased a particularly painful burden for me as his mom. I can never sufficiently express my gratitude for your kindness and generosity. Since the day Malcolm was born, my happiness has lived in his smile. I am exceedingly happy today. Thank you both, and Merry Christmas to you and yours!

To the mods: Thank you so much for all the work you do to make this happen, and to bring joy to so many children and their parents during difficult times. I've never been in a position to play Santa, but looking through the happy Thank You posts and sharing in their joy has become a Christmas tradition for me over the last few years. If you ever need help moderating, let me know - I have some experience and would love to contribute even if I can't play Santa.

And with that, I'm off to bed - 3 AM is way too early to start the day!

NOTE: I wrote this on Christmas Day, but I was so tired I forgot the part where you actually submit the post! Sorry it's late!

What a fun time Holly had all day. She just turned four, and autistic, so she wasn’t really aware that Christmas was happening until she woke up and saw the gifts. She did a quick little dance and then went over to investigate everything lol. She still can’t open presents by herself so we help. She played with everything off and on for the rest of the day until she fell asleep. We’re up early now, and she’s back at it!

A big thanks to everyone for bringing joy to us and Holly, from your fellow Redditor way down south! https://imgur.com/a/Bcfs572

Here’s our milk and cookies for Santa, and carrots for the reindeer. https://imgur.com/a/bUdq3KG

Holly opening and playing with:

Skating Minnie, she’s so cute. Holly is already starting to mimic the song she sings. Thank you to u/somegingerchick. https://imgur.com/a/UaadgF9

Peppa pig clever car. When the car gets close to a wall or bumps into one, it turns itself around. Thank you to u/Careless-Act-5416. https://imgur.com/a/zoi02pv

Peppa pig sound book. Holly followed along with her finger to the words as the story was read. So cute. Thanks to u/Royal_tough_9927. https://imgur.com/a/X7CGbUh

Minnie Mouse book set. We love that the books stay organized in the box. Its magnetic and closes nicely. Thanks to u/kanga_roos. https://imgur.com/a/Dazu8CL

Peppa pig caravan. She started playing with it straight out the box. Very easy for her to open and enjoy. Thanks to u/Jonpitre. https://imgur.com/a/o6mtEEo

Bubble machine. Holly has loved bubbles since she was a baby. Now she can have bubbles whenever she wants without waiting on me( her old bubble blower lol.) She had a bubble blast! Thanks to u/Definition-pretend. https://imgur.com/a/prznLA1

Stocking from u/ohn035. Holly loves art so she will be putting those markers, crayons and colored pencils to good use! Thank you for the stocking, card, and extra goodies. https://imgur.com/a/L8QcJJO

Leggings and long sleeve shirts from u/rlaw68 and u/somegingerchick. Thank yall so much. These fit great with a little room to grow, so they will last a good while. She wouldn’t stand still long enough so I got some pics of her playing in her room. https://imgur.com/a/A8IFXji

Thanks to u/songlcy4058 for the Peppa pig Christmas jammies. You can see her wearing them here and in her other Christmas pics. They are so soft and cute! https://imgur.com/a/Q8ofNnM

The only thing I haven’t received was the lot of books from u/Cmartin2304. They have been sitting right here in the New Orleans distribution center since Dec 18. Im going to give it until Saturday and if I don’t receive it ill call and see whats going on. That was very sweet of you to gift your books to everyone. Thank you! Hopefully there’s no issue and they make it here. https://imgur.com/a/z0XcD9K

A big thank you again to everyone! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! Hopefully Im in a better position next year so I can be a Santa too!

Edit: Here are some DIY gifts I made with things I had on hand. If Im able to be a Santa next year, I might do things like the photo candles, mini polaroid pics, and photo gems for contests/offers. https://imgur.com/a/U5KEish

A heartfelt and magical thank you to all the incredible Santas who made this year so special for us. This was the first year my little one truly understood who Santa was, and each of your gifts added an extra layer of joy and sparkle to our holiday. Your thoughtfulness made our day unforgettable.

u/ohn035 – Thank you for the microphone! My little one was over the moon, running around like a whirlwind of excitement. She’s so fast that it was hard to get a photo, but I managed to capture a sweet moment to share with you privately. Your gift brought so much energy and happiness to her day—thank you for your kindness.

u/careless-act-5416 – Thank you for the book and racecar! The car was a huge curiosity, though all of my friends’ dogs were equally fascinated and kept trying to “join in.” I’ve decided to save it for when we’re home in a calmer space so she can enjoy it fully. Your thoughtful gifts mean the world to us—thank you so much, Santa!

u/sclc60 – Books are her absolute favorite, and yours was no exception! She dove right in and had such a fun time exploring it. We’re so grateful for your thoughtful gift and wish you the happiest of holidays.

u/mpsunnyskies – Your gift was an absolute delight! She spent an hour running around with the bell shaker, singing “Jingle Bells” at the top of her lungs. It brought so much joy, even amidst the chaos of friends and excited dogs. I’ll be sure to take more photos once we’re home and can enjoy everything in a quieter moment. Thank you for bringing so much happiness to her day.

To all the amazing Santas—thank you for spreading so much love and joy. You’ve truly brightened our holiday season, and we’re endlessly grateful for all you do.

Will send each of you a pic of my little one privately:))

Happiest of new years!!!

Just wanted to make a quick post to say that the parents in our house have the flu and as such I am not human enough to make a proper thank you post yet. I remembered to grab some action shots but Lucien refused to put a shirt on for gift opening so I will have to do some editing first... I'll make sure to get some photos of her enjoying her gifts, too.

I know it's partly the sickness, but I just can't stop happy crying about this sub and what you did for our Christmas. You all have NO idea what you do for us. It really does go beyond the gift.. it makes the memories. I had been feeling really guilty about being sick and asleep for half of the day, and then I peek into Lucien's room and see MESS! But it's not just mess, it's her making joyful Christmas memories- so yes, I see her opened old piggy bank on the floor, and a bed of Legos on the rug just waiting for me to step on them, but I also see her new pink safe on her desk- and I know it's gotta be full of the change from the discarded piggy bank, next to a drawing of a monster done with sparkly metallic markers and I see the Lego box on the ground next to the desk, a partially completed set already in the works. And my GOD, I heard the clicking of the heels on her new boots all day as she stomped around in them, feeling like the coolest girl in the world. And my goodness, a stocking so stuffed that it wouldn't even fit all the goodies!!! She had me making a bag of popcorn at 8:30 in the morning 🤣

A proper thank you post to follow, when I have the energy, but for now - all of the gratitude in the world to our Santas for being such a huge part of our holiday, which was so, so different than the one we had planned, but one that was still SOOOO happy for Lucien, because she got to play with her amazing gifts starting at the crack of dawn- not just yesterday, but today, too- which makes me even more grateful because this sick mom doesn't have the energy to do a thing right now.

💚❤️

Looking through our photos tonight to add to this album is already making me wish I could slow down time and just be back in quite a few magical moments we’ve had this year. Landyn had his first band concert, we had beautiful Santa photos taken for free from the local community church, we’ve gone sledding, and they’ve both played with friends. Friends didn’t seem possible for Landyn just a few years ago and he had his first sleepover at a friends house a few nights ago. We are so beyond blessed…and I’m so thankful for those in this group. For the Santa’s who helped out these two this year not only by gifting them some really amazing things they love but by bringing back hope and excitement for their mom. This has been an extremely tough year for me and I’d been feeling hopeless prior to finding this community. Knowing there are people who do care and are willing to help complete strangers, helped bring me out of that feeling. I was excited and happy this season, I could enjoy it with them this year.

These two have loved every bit of the gifts they were blessed with here. We shared so many laughs and happy moments during opening and after while enjoying.

u/KopOut Landyn loves the fidget magnet putty. We got huge laughs before he opened it…I handed it to him and he made a joke by falling with it because of how heavy it was. He has really grown into a fun sense of humor…also something just a few years ago didn’t seem possible. He said he could fidget with the magnets for hours. Braelyn is looking forward to building the Lego skate…especially because it’s something to do with me. They both learned how to roller skate this year and it’s a reminder of the fun learning.

u/0hn035 you’ve helped our family in so many ways this year as well and I think you have one of the coolest kids around. You put so much care into your stocking stuffers and wrapping paper choice as well, those helped tie everything together beautifully. Braelyn loves making pictures with her paint pens and drawing pads…she was able to hand out gifts to our family with these ❤️ Landyn can’t wait for soccer season to start back up to show off his soccer bag…he has it packed and ready to go for his next park adventure. He’s also got his outfit picked out for going back to school and can’t wait to show off his awesome capybara shirt. Lol I’m sure he’s going to show off the dance with it.

I think we are also going to have a ton of waffle making in our near future. He really was so excited for that and can’t wait to make some! It didn’t fit in his stocking, so I wrapped it. He told everyone about his waffle maker at our family gathering.

This morning was a whirlwind with Braelyn getting picked up and I didn’t have a chance to get their reactions to their stockings, but there were so many happy squeals and more dancing. Landyn will be sporting a monkey tattoo on his first day back as well lol. They both broke out in excitement with the popcorn! I keep forgetting to grab it while at the grocery store and they’ve been asking for so long. They also had Pringle’s and fruit snacks for breakfast. Opening those was so much fun this morning…and the long romantic walks to the fridge towel found in mine made them both laugh hard.

u/No_Pension3991 Landyn and Braelyn loved everything! Landyn has his soccer backpack packed with his soccer targets and can’t wait to try them out! We have a park near by that he will be able to use these a lot. I think he’s planning on going this weekend, even with snow on the ground! He’s super determined to head into the spring soccer session a better ball shooter and these are going to help him out so much with that! The boxing coordination drill set gave us so many laughs this Christmas! Our dog chased him around when he first was trying it out and our family also really got into it at our gathering. It is super fun and challenging, even for the adults!

Braelyn was so excited that we’d just been talking about how much she loves raccoons (one of my friends has a raccoon rescue and Braelyn has been able to bottle feed some of the orphaned baby raccoons) and then got a Magna tile set with a raccoon in it! She spent quite a bit of time building with this set. I asked her which of the animals was her favorite and she scooped them all up and then put her arm around our dog too…saying she loves them all (but couldn’t leave her pup out lol) it was such a cute moment. She also absolutely loves her mermaid Polly pocket. I grew up with them and am excited to get to relive Polly pocket with Braelyn. The keepsake collection is so awesome! She loves that it came with a ring for her to wear and has its own little hiding spot inside of the Polly pocket.

u/rlaw68 I hadn’t blown up Landyn’s soccer ball because I didn’t want him to immediately know what was inside the wrapping paper. He had so much fun when it was deflated, dancing around with it on his head or pretending it was a soup bowl lol. And then when he pumped it up…he thinks it is the coolest ball ever. He loves it!

Braelyn got so excited when I told her what was inside the box with the cloud light and said she’d seen those on YouTube. She hasn’t stopped snuggling her cat plush because it is so soft. She said that they’re both going to help her sleep in her own bed…I had a feeling that would be the case but it was cute hearing it come from her.

u/Curious_Beautiful308 Landyn and Braelyn both are so excited for the David Walliam books…Landyn said it is his favorite author of all time. They both lit up when he opened the gangsta granny strikes again book and can’t wait to read it. Gangsta Granny had an impact on both of them and Braelyn even remembered how Landyn cried from it. It’s so much fun reading a book that they are both super in to. And one that makes them feel all sorts of emotion is magical. I think this author is going to stick with them even when they have kiddos, thank you for being a part of this love for them.

u/TheKidsAreAsleep these blankets have been such a big hit this season so far. Anywhere we go, they take them! Braelyn loves showing off the glow in the dark feature. And Landyn uses his blanket as an ice breaker to talking about all the capybara facts he knows. When we went to the zoo last, they had capybaras but they weren’t out for viewing. He is so excited to go back and talks about it with anyone who allows him to lol.

u/bengtc Braelyn has been taking photos of everything. I’ve laughed hearing her pose people for photos or say “hey, wait, I need to get a photo of this!” Because she sounds so much like me 😂 she’s loved the opportunity too to tell her brother what to do (during posing haha)…I can’t wait to see the world from her eyes in her photos. It is such a cool perspective to be able to see. You made a huge Christmas wish come true for her.

u/School_House_Rock The first thing they wanted to open was this. They screamed and jumped when they realized that mom had a present from Santa this year and were so excited for me. Not only are my feet going to be warmer this year (and many more to come) but it warmed my heart that these two were so excited for me. I love these and am so excited to not be the crazy lady wearing sandals in winter. It’s so hard to be able to take care of even basic things for myself and this really is going to make a huge impact for years to come.

I can’t say enough thank yous for the amazing Christmas you’ve all helped with. There was excitement for what they were opening but it’s the laughs and excited squeals that are going to be one of my favorite memories of Christmas ever. I hope you all (and all the Santa’s and other families blessed) have had an amazing Christmas as well. This excitement is going to carry over into my birthday (29th) and into the new year. I’m not ready for it to be over, but am so grateful for this community and giving my kids not only happy memories but a happy mom heart as well. Merry Christmas ❤️

Twas the night of Christmas and I can't lift my head, not a movement around and I'm stuck in my bed.

My daughter was sick to the ER we flew...not much of a rhyme...yup it's the flu.

The doctor assured me of good times ahead, Influenza A!!! Highly contagious he said. Well that would be your Christmas situation he did say..well he wasn't wrong so in our beds we did lay. Coughing and sneezing and snot all around but still Christmas Joy was going to be found. I tried to wake her at midnight to see... all of the presents that were under the tree. Much to my surprise she said, I don't want to get up, I want to sleep instead.

So 9 in the morning as I slumbered and slept, she finally woke up so my promise I kept. We went to see all the gifts to share...it took forever to unwrap the little that was there.

Many glimpses of her smile in the moments we shared...it's so wonderful to know all the people who cared, to bless our family in this year of unrest...but still did Ameena enjoy Christmas the best.

Through all the snots and through all the sneezes, through all the coughs and all the shivering freezes...this Christmas is one for the history books, we will probably be sick till the New Year it looks.

Please give me time to ring out my thanks to all of the Santas that were in the ranks.

But for now, I must lay my head because it's time to again sleep but I wanted to say THANK you with just a little peep.

(My nephew braved to come over though we are all sick and these are the few pictures that he could get.)

My daughter 8, my mom 83 all sick in this house ...including me.

but still we are thankful for all that you've done to make this Christmas a bearable one.

-Deliriously written so forgive the incorrect stanzas 😩🥴 ✨🎄✨ Merry Christmas to All and to All a good night.

thanks Thank you Santas for making Aubrey's Christmas so beautiful

I want to give the biggest, most sincere thank you to all the Santas in RAOC. You all have opened up your hearts to our babies, and it truly made my heart so full. This Christmas was absolutely amazing, and Aubrey has been playing with her gifts all day, having a blast! I have been so excited to share these videos with her Santas. You all are very much appreciated, and my gratitude is immense.

Please excuse the bag on the bottom of the chair in the picture. Our cat is a senior, but she is NUTS and moves like a kitten! If I didn't cover the wheels, we would've been playing Where's Waldo, trying to figure out which room that cat rolled the new chair into...it definitely would have not been by the tree this morning.

When she opened the Crayola box, she began loading it with her own glue sticks, crayons, etc because of how proud the box makes her feel. She told me that she's an artist now. She also made sure to make us sundaes with the sand (which was scented and I didn't realize, and a very pleasant surprise). The cat sat under her and watched her play with it the entire time (I think because the sand bags sounded like her Temptations treat bag and she was ready for hers lol).

She has made sure to tell my mother that she has the same pots now and she's going to cook everything for her YouTube videos and people can like and subscribe (it's a fake YouTube channel, but she doesn't know that lol). She also realized that her drawing book isn't a coloring book and she told me that she's going to tell her art teacher that Santa brought her an art book.

She had to sing a song within the first five minutes of opening (I had to record that). She's been doing concerts all day. She lost it when she realized that my phone can connect into the guitar, so all of her songs have been going through the guitar and she's been enjoying singing with them. Also, the wrapping paper that you sent fit on all of the gifts, except for yours lol. I did have a roll left over from last year, so that went to wrap yours. The paper was BEAUTIFUL! I actually felt a little bad that she ripped it, because the paper was such high quality and so lovely.

She has been carrying her game around with her everywhere! When she was finally ready to calm down a bit from the day, she told me that she wanted to take her game and a blanket to relax on the sofa. She played until she dozed off for a nap. We don't own a gaming system, so this gift really made her feel included with the other kids. This gift really did mean so much, and it's very special to her. Thank you, again!

She's been creating different food items to cook inside of her pots and pans set. All of her Play Doh dried out, so she was so excited to receive this. There are so many colors in this set, and this will keep her sustained for a long while, thank you!

u/bengtc https://imgur.com/a/Z4UNVvN

This chair made her day! She told her old chair "goodbye" today and has been sitting in it every chance she had. The second she first sat in it, she couldn't even speak, that's how in love with it she was...and she's rarely at a loss for words lol.

u/laffinalltheway and u/School_House_Rock

Thank you again for the blanket and pajamas! She used the blanket today to cuddle under for her nap. She told me that this will be her new blanket for nap time at school. The pajamas haven't come in yet, but she'll definitely cozy up with them on New Year's Day! Thank you both again!

I love you guys. You've given me the best gift ever this year, & I fear I may need to wear weights to keep from floating right up to the moon bc my heart is just so dang full!

I really wanted to post pics earlier of Christmas Eve & the whole todo, but I have the attention span of a gnat & I had to give all my focus to the last few days (I like to do silly activities in the 5 days leading up, but can't follow through on more days than that lol) who knew Christmas was such work, when did this happen??

I'm going to post another thank you post later with individual thanks & more pics once I get them all from my partner's phone, but I just wanted to post these few real quick bc I really just am tickled polka dotted by how much fun today was & it's all y'all's faults! Thank you so much for giving Luke such a magical Christmas & for being such amazing forces of kindness.

He didn't get through quite all his presents today bc he had to meticulously inspect every one individually before opening another & i think he got a tad overwhelmed with new toys. So I'll post those pics tmrw once he finishes them!

Also, I haven't sent our thank you cards yet bc I can't find my stamps! I have to wait till the first to get some more. But I will asap!

Delaney & Indiana had such a great Christmas! It would not have been possible without the help of the kind, loving Santas in this amazing group. A very big, and heartfelt thank you for that! ♥️🎁🎄🎅🏽

We went out of town & stayed with family for the occasion. Because some older cousins also opened gifts simultaneously, it was a bit wild! I was able to get photos of most gifts when opened, and a few during play time, just after the gift wrap settled. As we traveled much of the day, I will update ASAP, but wanted to get photos posted while I had a moment to do so.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays! I hope everyone had a wonderful day.

The last few years have been very difficult for my kids and I. After losing my mom shortly before Christmas I lost my Christmas spirit. She was Christmas for me. Since then I’ve watched my children lose their father, in a different and probably worse way. Last year was the first Christmas they didn’t get to see him and this year was a the first time they didn’t even get to speak to him. I try my best, but it’s a difficult time of year for all of us. Luckily we still have some family and friends that are like family to help make it a little brighter. This year we also had a Reddit community, and for that I am deeply grateful.

I tried my best to get pictures, but it was a little chaotic this morning. Emma camped out in the living room trying to catch Santa and of course was the first one up. Alex is camera shy so he tries to hide any time my phone is out. He’s also a huge fan of sleeping in, as am I, so he was difficult to wake this morning! Connor has been helping me with the magic of Christmas for a few years now. He was very excited to have his brother join us in putting out the gifts and filling the stockings.

https://imgur.com/a/christmas-2024-MqCGFmw

u/dhsagal thank you so much for the blankets. They have been well loved and put to good use so far. All of the kids love how soft and warm they are. I’m a bit jealous!

u/usmousie thank you so so much. You purchased 3 gifts for each of my boys and 4 for my daughter. Connor LOVES the Pokemon cards, case, and the fidget spinner. Alex has not taken the Grogu jumpsuit off since this morning. I think it’s his favorite gift. And the emotional support fries match his cheeseburger plush and his slippers so he was very excited to have that. Emma absolutely adores all of her gifts. She spent the entire day playing with them. The slime was a bit difficult to open, but they smelled wonderful. She has fully decorated her diary and already painted a few pictures to hang on our fridge.

u/cruciferousvegan the boys loved their headphones and I loved not hearing 2 different YouTube videos playing at the same time! Alex has barely taken his off. Since they share a bedroom headphones were the perfect gift for them, me, and my sanity!

u/championvilla Emma loves the squishmallow charm bracelet. She said it has her favorite squishies on it. Her best friend is a little jealous of it, but they are going to use the bracelet kit from u/usmousie to make matching bracelets.

u/rlaw68 Connor is in love with the shotgun you got him. The boys went outside to test it out with their friend. Apparently it is the coolest thing ever. And the gun you bought for Alex had a silencer on it. Whatever games these boys play outside will be much more fun now. And Alex of course loved the led lights. He was very upset when his were broken a few months ago so he’s happy that he has new ones to put up. He’s already asking me to put them up and move some of his posters around. I think it will have to wait until tomorrow though!

u/bengtc thank you so much for the laser tag set. The kids opened it the first day of winter break so they had something to do with their friends. Everyone loves it. Even some of the dads joined in. We may just have to buy a second set for Easter to have one big battle together. They have played it every day so far, even when it snowed.

u/0hn035 I want to thank you again for the stockings. I couldn’t fit everything inside so some had to go under the tree. My kids have never had such full stockings before! We have also never tried hot apple cider. Connor said it’s a 9.5 out of 10. I think we will make it a part of our holiday every year from now on.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity. It means so much to all of us. And thank you to this entire community. I’ve read a lot of the posts here and I’m in awe of everything you have done for so many families.

Thank you so much to all the Santa’s that blessed my family this year! Diana, Amelia, and Killian had such an amazing Christmas thanks to you all!

Thank you u/scarletglimmer for the wonderful blankets that have kept my little ones so nice and warm. They have definitely been getting lots of snuggles! The girls absolutely love the fact that they are bluey. They’ve been taking their blankets in the car too which was really nice when we’ve gone to look at Christmas lights!

Thank you u/Songlcy4058 for the Christmas Eve pajamas. The kids are so cute and cozy in them! They were super surprised and the girls were excited to have matching pajamas too. (Killian has a cough and ended up throwing up on his so we had to change him. But his are perfect as well!) I hope to keep this as a tradition in the future!

Thank you u/School_House_Rock for the thoughtful warm jackets for my husband and I. You really went above and beyond by thinking of us and for showing my kids that Santa does bring gifts for parents too sometimes. Thank you also for Killian’s piñata and lantern toys. It’ll take some practice for him to get the “candy” into the piñata since right now he mainly wants to eat them. But it’s great that he has a goal to work towards! And like I thought, he’s obsessed with his little lantern. He’s been carrying it around and gets excited when we change the color for him. His favorite setting seems to be blue with bird noises!

Thank you u/Topcat for gifting Diana Minecraft and her blank comic books. Thank you for Amelia’s Bitzee pet, bluey plushies, and Bluey bus. Then an extra big thank you for the girls’ Mario Party games! Diana hasn’t had a chance to start on her comic books yet but she’s sooo excited and already brainstorming ideas for them! Amelia loves her Bitzee and changing the character. She’s also loving having the Socks and Muffin plushies to play along with her Bluey and Bingo. Also the Bluey bus has been driving all around the Christmas tree while using the discarded wrapping paper as an obstacle course! It’s been busy so they haven’t had a chance to play any of the games yet, but the kids are absolutely ecstatic and anxious to try everything out! That’s probably what they’ll be doing as soon as they wake up tomorrow.

Thank you u/TheKidsAreAsleep for getting Killian the Picasso tiles. It’s sooo funny, the girls started building little houses for him and then he gets a kick out of purposely knocking them down like Godzilla. They’ve been having such a blast and laughing until they fall over! I can’t wait to watch Killian transform from Godzilla into a little architect himself as he grows.

Thank you u/dhsagal for getting Killian the magnetic blocks and Amelia the scrubbie pet and hello kitty lol doll. Like with the tiles, Killian likes to knock over towers rather then build them at the moment. But he thinks it’s so funny and it’s definitely entertaining for the rest of us. Amelia wanted to start decorating her scrubbie pet as soon as she opened it. Her favorite color is blue so right now her cat is mostly blue but she’s having a blast with it! When she wrote to Santa she had forgotten to ask for the lol doll so she wasn’t expecting it at all and was so surprised that Santa “just knew” and still brought it! Thank you for that magical moment.

Thank you u/Careless-Act-5416, for getting Killian the bath shark toy and Diana the lol mermaid, scrubbie pet, and the Bluey trouble game. Right now Killian likes hitting the fish together and eating them but he’ll really be surprised when it gets to go into his next bath with him! Diana opened her scrubbie pet up so fast! She was amazed at how big it was! Right now it’s rainbow! We haven’t created the mermaids tail yet but will soon. It was a blind box and she loves the one she got! We already played a round of Bluey trouble! It was alot of fun playing with the kids and teaching them the rules. They loved popping the bubble to roll the dice!

I can't thank you all enough for everything. It was a truly magical Christmas morning, watching my kids' faces light up as they unwrapped and discovered Santa's surprises. The joy and excitement they felt was priceless to see as a parent. I’m so so grateful for everything and I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas as well 💖
