Whereas Russia steals part of an entire country and that's fine?

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '24 edited Aug 18 '24

idk about OP but I find any tik Tok skits made by any soldiers in civilian areas they’ve just conquered to be deeply troubling. Same as I do footage and news of Russians. This incursion in particular is really bizarre suicide mission. Their plan seems/ed to be to take over a nuclear power plant and then turn that into their heavy arms base until they get blown up? I don’t know. It all seems like a bad omen.

u/CautiousListen5914 Aug 18 '24

"Liberates part of a fascist dicatorship from ethnic cleansing."

Yes that's fine.

18

u/StringGlittering7692 Aug 18 '24

Oo let me help you with the definition of fascism you'll find it fits Putin's regime perfectly:

Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/ FASH-iz-əm) is a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition,

-6

u/CautiousListen5914 Aug 18 '24

But we weren't talking about Russia?

Do the people in the liberated regions support their liberation or not?

12

u/StringGlittering7692 Aug 18 '24

No I was clarifying for you which side is a fascist state in this. You said Russia was justified in invading Ukraine as Ukraine was a fascist state.

No surprise it's the one who invaded it's neighbour who actually fits the definition  perfectly, first they iinvade with subterfuge to stoke tensions and then in  a full blown invasion.

10

u/CautiousListen5914 Aug 18 '24

No I was clarifying for you which side is a fascist state in this.

One of these sides has elections. The other's has its leaders imposed by the world's most murderous and genocidal imperialist state.

You said Russia was justified in invading Ukraine as Ukraine was a fascist state.

No I didn't. Please don't lie like this.

it's the one who invaded it's neighbour who actually fits the definition

Russia does not meet your definition at all.

far-right,

Literally dresses up as Nazis. Carries out ethnic cleansing...

authoritarian,

No rule of law. People imprisoned based on being leftists. All opposition media banned, all opposition parties banned. Citizens pulled off the streets by thugs to be sent to the front line to die for America.

ultranationalist political ideology and movement,

Worship of actual real life Nazis like Stepan Bandera. Extremism is popularised by dictatorship government.

characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition,

As above.

These are all features of the Ukraine, not Russia.

-9

u/ismailhaniyeahboi Aug 18 '24

Russian invasion was a defensive invasion against NATO aggression.

9

u/StringGlittering7692 Aug 18 '24

NATO didn't invade. Putin made it clear it was about restoring historic lands. It's a resource grab pure and simple. Everyone knows this. All the Nazi and NATO stuff, just a convenient pretense

No the guardian isnt a reliable source.

Go get the full transcript and cite the paragraph where Putin outlines his aims of conquering Ukraine/Europe.

The BBC isn't a reliable source.

I really don't understand why you would believe enemy media about such an important topic.

Go listen to some actual experts instead of propaganda outlets.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '24

It's both. He invaded the land to grab resources after NATO provocation. America uses the war as a chance to grab Ukrainian resources for pennies and block Russia from access. Neither are honest actors and neither give a shit about Ukrainians

-2

u/bw_mutley Aug 18 '24

What really characterizes fascism is the suppression of minorities. Something the Ukronazi regime started doing after the Euromaiden in 2014. After that they started shelling DPR/LPR and killed 14,000 civilians in this process.

0

u/PremiumVoy Aug 18 '24

You can’t even get the basic facts right. 14,000 was the total number of people who died. ~5,700 separatist militants(and little green men) and ~4,600 Ukrainian soldiers. Around 3,400 civilians died and weren’t all killed by the Ukrainian forces.

2

u/bw_mutley Aug 19 '24

Thanks for correctimg me. Can you give me a better source than I previously had?

More civilians died in Mariupol alone than in the entire 8 year war Ukraine fought in the donbass region.

4

u/CautiousListen5914 Aug 18 '24

They do like to kill the innocent civilians don't they? Kind of a major feature of Nazism.

-2

u/GuapoSammie Aug 18 '24

Who? The Russians or the Ukrainians?

I don't think you understand. The Russians killed more civilians in a few months in a region they claimed to be liberating than the Ukrainians did in 8 years.

0

u/CautiousListen5914 Aug 18 '24

Only the Ukrainians are Nazis.

The Russians killed more civilians in a few months in a region they claimed to be liberating than the Ukrainians did in 8 years.

This was during the siege of Mariupol I guess? Where the Nazis were taking mass civilian hostages? Remember the holes up in the steel plant, taking hundreds of civilian hostages only to finally give up?

This is entirely a different situation than shelling civilian suburbs and killing hundreds of your own citizens because they don't want to join your Nazi gang of thugs puppet state, don't you think?

-1

u/GuapoSammie Aug 18 '24

Putin was cozied up with wagner until it was inconvenient for him.

And even if it were true that fighters in Mariupol was "taking mass civilian hostages," it doesn't change the fact they were killed.

You'd also have to defend Israel and the US striking combatants hiding amongst civilians if you want to do so for Russia.

3

u/CautiousListen5914 Aug 18 '24

Putin was cozied up with wagner until it was inconvenient for him.

It was literally a mercenary group. Of course he did, eh, "cozy up"? Not sure what relevance this has.

And even if it were true that fighters in Mariupol was "taking mass civilian hostages," it doesn't change the fact they were killed.

It's important to know who killed them. Mariupol civilians have been rising up against the Nazis for over a decade before the Russian invasion.

You'd also have to defend Israel and the US striking combatants hiding amongst civilians if you want to do so for Russia.

No there is no defending Israel or the USA, they are the aggressors of all the conflicts they're involved in.

3

u/GuapoSammie Aug 18 '24

Nazis are cool as long as they're labeled as mercs?

What do you mean it's Important to know who killed them? Who else leveled Mariupol?

And while the Russians were provoked, is the invader still not the aggressors?

You are insane.

5

u/CautiousListen5914 Aug 18 '24

Nazis are cool as long as they're labeled as mercs?

Wait so you're trying to say that Wagner were Nazis? And that Putin was cozying up to them? As a response to what? What's your point here? I've never seen any evidence for this Wagner Nazi thing in nearly three years of this American war. I have thousands of pics of Ukrainian Nazis.

So you only response to your open support of Nazis is, "but Wager are Nazis too", without any basis, and you think that exonerates you or something? Even if it was true?

What do you mean it's Important to know who killed them? Who else leveled Mariupol?

You obviously don't know much about the place. Mariupol was never "levelled", it's being rebuilt and a lot of Nazis and supporters of Nazi have been denazified. This is a good thing.

And while the Russians were provoked, is the invader still not the aggressors?

No. That's not how it works.

10

u/Augustus_Chavismo Aug 18 '24

6

u/CautiousListen5914 Aug 18 '24

You label anyone who isn’t a Russian imperialist of being far right.

Even if it was true that Russia was "imperialist", it's not true in general. What do you get out of making these empty, meaningless claims? Are you just emotional? Take a few deep breaths and try to clam down and think about something real and meaningful to say.

"Kyiv has alleged that 20,000 children have been taken from Ukraine to Russia..."

Yawn...

Kateryna Rashevska, legal expert at the Regional Center for Human Rights, then reported that Russian Federation agents have taken at least 19,546 children

This woman is from Kiev. Also yawn.

-1

u/Augustus_Chavismo Aug 18 '24

Even if it was true that Russia was "imperialist", it's not true in general.

It is objectively true. Even Russia doesn’t deny that it’s both expanding its territory and influence through invasion.

Imperialism: a policy of extending a country's power and influence through colonization, use of military force, or other means.

What do you get out of making these empty, meaningless claims?

I backed up my claim.

Are you just emotional?

You’re saying this under a post pearl clutching about Ukrainians looting food.

Take a few deep breaths and try to clam down and think about something real and meaningful to say.

Slava Ukraini. All democracies should be free of invasion and dictatorial rulers ambitions.

Yawn...

Which Russia confirmed in their own special way by saying they were saving the kidnapped children.

This woman is from Kiev. Also yawn.

Why would that be a point?

4

u/CautiousListen5914 Aug 18 '24

It is objectively true. Even Russia doesn’t deny that it’s both expanding its territory and influence through invasion.

The isn't true and besides, it's not what imperialism means.

I backed up my claim.

"You label anyone who isn’t a Russian imperialist of being far right." Shoe me where you backed this up.

You’re saying this under a post pearl clutching about Ukrainians looting food.

Nazi Ukrainians looting, if we use your lib definition we can call them imperialist too.

Slava Ukraini.

Please no Nazi sloganeering here. This is a warning.

All democracies should be free of invasion and dictatorial rulers ambitions.

I completely agree. So you support Russia's liberation then?

Which Russia confirmed in their own special way by saying they were saving the kidnapped children.

And since returned them all.

Why would that be a point?

Why would we believe a support of fascist Ukraine?

1

u/Augustus_Chavismo Aug 18 '24

The isn't true and besides, it's not what imperialism means.

That was the oxford definition.

"You label anyone who isn’t a Russian imperialist of being far right." Shoe me where you backed this up.

I pointed out Russia mass kidnapping of children and your response was to call me far right and say my sources weren’t genuine.

Nazi Ukrainians looting, if we use your lib definition we can call them imperialist too.

No we can’t as they’re in a defensive war.

Please no Nazi sloganeering here. This is a warning.

Ukraine fought the Nazis and suffered genocide under them during operation barbarossa.

Ukraine will free itself from Putler as they did with Hitler.

I completely agree. So you support Russia's liberation then?

You support state capitalist oligarchy expanding their bank accounts through conquest.

How can you mod a leftist sub and support Russia? Why don’t you at least stan for a leftist country that doesn’t murder thousands in the name of imperialism and capitalism.

And since returned them all.

So now you’ve gone from saying it isn’t true to saying it is but they undid it? Source for this claim?

Why would we believe a support of fascist Ukraine?

Can you list out the Fascist policies of Ukraine.

3

u/CautiousListen5914 Aug 18 '24

That was the oxford definition.

Indeed.

I pointed out Russia mass kidnapping of children and your response was to call me far right and say my sources weren’t genuine.

Another lie. You said that I called "anyone who isn’t a Russian imperialist far right". Also your source is fascist Ukraine, regardless of the website it's reported on.

No we can’t as they’re in a defensive war.

An American led proxy war of aggression against Russia.

Ukraine fought the Nazis and suffered genocide under them during operation barbarossa.

Some Ukrainians did, most of Ukraine were allied with the Nazis. Like the popular ultranationalist figure Stepan Bandera.

You support state capitalist oligarchy

That's not an answer.

How can you mod a leftist sub and support Russia?

I would support Satan against the USA.

So now you’ve gone from saying it isn’t true to saying it is but they undid it? Source for this claim?

Here hundreds of orphans are returned and all Ukraine has to say about it is that there's thousands more.. Why would they even return any? It's an absurd conspiracy theory.

Can you list out the Fascist policies of Ukraine.

What definition of fascism do you want to use?

4

u/ismailhaniyeahboi Aug 18 '24

A 30-strong delegation of Russian officials was sent to Geneva this week for a routine review by the Committee on the Rights of the Child, which oversees whether countries abide by the convention of the same name.

Moscow’s representatives rebuked the accusations once again. “Russia has not been involved in the deportation of citizens of Ukraine,” said Alexey Vovchenko, Russia’s deputy minister of labour and social protection and head of the delegation.

Vovchenko told the experts that some 3,000 children had been “evacuated” from orphanages and care centres from the self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk people’s republics for their own safety to protect them from the hostilites while accusing Ukrainian authorities of not previously caring for the children.

There's the left, socialists, communists, marxists, leninists and then there's OP, who has gone so far left he's wound up on the Right by support a full on Russian imperialist dictator with a delusional goal of reestablishing the USSR through imperialist force. Ukraine is hugely flawed, but OP doesn't care, cause as long as the West supports Ukraine, Russia can do no wrong in OPs eyes.

There is literally no point in arguing or pointing out Russias atrocities, because OP will likely respond with 'But USA'

9

u/CautiousListen5914 Aug 18 '24

support a full on Russian imperialist dictator with a delusional goal of reestablishing the USSR through imperialist force

These are all far right talking points. This is just propaganda. Thinking a scumbag like Putin would want to bring back socialism. LOL. You showed yourself up there with that particularly wacky nonsense. This is Kamala Harris is a communist levels of Trumpian baby talk.

Russia can do no wrong in OPs eyes.

I've often criticised Russia where relevant.

"There is literally no point in arguing or pointing out Russian atrocities, because OP will likely respond with 'But USA'" isn't that exactly what you're doing right now? also do you realise you can criticise one side while not supporting the other one?

edit: unless OP is pro-russia then yeah he's a nut

2

u/MickoDicko Aug 18 '24

He's very clearly anti usa, anti imperialism and verrrry anti Ukraine. I wouldn't say going by his posts that he is pro-russian, but defo a Russia apologist. Would love to ask OP if he thinks Russias invasion of Ukraine is justified, but he'll likely spout some shit about how Ukraine invaded the donbass first

4

u/ismailhaniyeahboi Aug 18 '24

Please keep your liberalism to yourself.

2

u/MickoDicko Aug 18 '24

Please mod. Show me my liberalism. Is it because I critiqued Putins imperialism AND Ukrainian cronyism? USA imperialism supports Ukraine to ensure that their war machine keeps turning. Putin imperialism ensures that he can get rid of as many ethnic minorities as possible through a deranged war.

USA and Russia are different ends of the same stick

2

u/CautiousListen5914 Aug 19 '24

This war was started by the USA overthrowing Ukraine's democracy in 2014 and installing a puppet Nazi government designed to be a proxy for NATO to threaten Russia. The US believed they could take over Russia again and loot and pillage it like they did in the 90s. With the Iraq war, they lost control of it when Putin refused to help them murder a million plus Iraqis. He was supposed to be their tame, controlled dictator of the place that they were selling off to their oligarchs for pennies.

This was all well understood and known before the massive propaganda avalanche after the 2022 invasion (that Russia tried to avoid for the 8 years prior). Absurd repetition of the "Unprovoked" invasion. Reinventing history to spin a yarn about Russia just deciding to invade to steal land etc.

Most people think they're immune to propaganda, or that it's just not happening to them, it happens to people in foreign countries.

Here's the news before the invasion:

Forbes - Ukraine Deradicalized Its Extremist Troops. Now They Might Be Preparing A Counteroffensive

The Hill - Congress bans arms to Ukraine militia linked to neo-Nazis

Years of the Western (BBC) Media Admitting to Extremism Among Azov Military Units:

BBC - Behind Belarusian 'far-right mercenary' claims (2021)

Al Jazeera - Ukrainian fighters grease bullets against Chechens with pig fat (2022)

The Hill - The reality of neo-Nazis in Ukraine is far from Kremlin propaganda (2017)

These are all western sources. This was real reporting. I think the question you have to answer is were they lying then? Or are they lying now?
