Am i missing something?

Hey together,

this is my first post on reddit, maybe you can give me some tips or even judge on my life.

I am feeling quite empty these days and i don't really know why. Here is my situation:

I am almost 28 years old. I am together with my beautiful girlfriend for over 9 years now and i am planning to ask her to marry me next year. I moved out to a bigger city to study after graduation and now i returned back home living in an house with my dog and girlfriend. I still see the same friends from childhood and we always have fun. I work in the county administration close my home town and i am getting paid over average. I have over 60K € as a financial reserve and currently investing to make more of it. In my free time i like to do different sports and be social but also like to be at home gaming, reading, meditating and snuggling with dog and girlfriend.

Looking at my life from outside, it is great and i feel bad about complaining. But when i have no tasks at work or at home i just feel super useless, as if don't have any purpose in life. No matter what is going on in my life, i always falls back into negative phases.

What is your opinion on that?

Happiness doesn't come from check marking the boxes society tells you too.

The #1 goal is to know thyself.

Who the fuck are you without boxes to check and achievements to gain?

What did your true self come to explore?

That's the journey to purpose.

To do something here that's worth giving a fuck about.

How you get there is, first getting comfortable being in your own company by yourself.

The second is, allowing all parts of your life that was created by your false self to crumble.

Step 3 is to move through life more intentional now that you give a less of a fuck about fitting in because you are fully aligned with your true self and your purpose.

Live long and proseper 🖖

That's a good advice. I had big problems with not fitting in what socienty wants you to be, but i'm always trying to seperate from this mental state.

Sometimes i struggle with identifying whether i internally want to archieve the goal i want to archieve or just want it because the world wants me to want it (if that makes sense).

I also agree with being in alignment with your true/authentic self. Life isn't just about doing tasks. It also has its quiet times for your mind to catch up from the persistent doing.

That "negative phase" may be your instincts hinting something is off in your life that has yet to be addressed. Also, you have the right to analyze your life; that's part of the growth process.

I would advise taking the time to know yourself a bit more.

You listed external things; maybe you should start internally, like, who are you?

All the Best

Thank you for the tip. I have been meditating and reflecting myself for the past 10 years, but sometimes over time you can see aspect in a diferent light.
