Limbo/Concerns Weekly Pregnancy Limbo/Concerns - December 23, 2024

We created this space to share pregnancy concerns like:

- Beta HCGs that seem low or might not be doubling appropriately

- Concerning ultrasound findings

- Bleeding issues

- Etc

These posts are welcome in our Daily Thread, but this is a specific area to discuss limbo and concerns.

Lets all remember HCG averages, too!
- Under 1,200 mIU/ml: <72 Hours

- 1200-6000 mIU/ml: Between 72 and 96 Hours is average, so <96 is good

- Over 6,000 mIU/ml: >96 Hours is normal, with no known average (so varied)

I've had bleeding multiple times throughout this pregnancy (which is just great on top of all my anxiety). I was referred for an urgent colposcopy because apparently my cervix looked not right. Had the colposcopy a few days ago and they wanted to do biopsies because there were several suspect things on my cervix and it also reacted to the acetic acid they use but are delaying it for a few weeks as baby isn't viable at the moment (22 weeks) and they can't guarantee it won't cause premature labour. So now I'm in this eternal limbo where it looks like I probably have cervical cancer but we can't confirm it for a while because they want baby to get closer to 30 weeks and we can't talk/think about treatment until then and it's seriously messing with my head trying to come to terms with things that may or may not be possible.

On the bright side the baby is doing absolutely fine.

My anxiety is constant. I am only 5 weeks. I did a Christmas game the other day that involved jumping in place and completely panicked after. I have fully convinced myself that I could have ended this pregnancy by jumping and my progesterone suppositories are just masking symptoms. This is stressful 😔

I had sex for the first time since finding out i was pregnant and have had dark brown discharge/blood when I go to the bathroom. I'm hoping it's from the sex, but my anxiety is trying to tell me I have caused a miscarriage. I called my Dr and am waiting to hear back. I hope you and your baby are both well!!! And your anxiety is just fooling you.

Thank you, you too. If it helps you at all when I had my first appointment with my doctor he said you can continue to have sex and that you may have some bleeding after and that’s normal. Hope all is well!

I’m in the exact same situation. It’s so hard not to panic.

I just found out my HCG levels are dropping, and I've started bleeding really heavy. I've lost this baby, too. I'm beyond upset. I hope you all are okay! Sending good vibes your way.

Can progesterone create pregnancy symptoms?!? I didn’t even think of this 🤦‍♀️😫

Yes progesterone symptoms overlap with pregnancy symptoms as progesterone rises in pregnancy. I personally am worried I would be bleeding without the progesterone and progesterone is just keeping everything in. The wait to the first ultrasound has been so tough and I still have weeks to go.

Ugh, I’m sorry! I know the feeling. I wasn’t told that progesterone could mask miscarriage. I have a scan this Thursday and just automatically expecting the worst bc my symptoms have been fluctuating. It’s impossible not to think that way. But I started progesterone this last Thursday at 6+1weeks, so I’ve only been taking it for 4 or 5 days. They didn’t put me on it until pregnancy was confirmed, which was kind of annoying. Hang in there and I pray for the best for you!

In the worst state of limbo at the moment. My ultrasound last week at 6+2 had a strong heartbeat of 137 however the doctor called with concerns about an irregular gestational sac and small hematoma. I have another scan booked in a week and a half to see if it has resolved itself. My doctor isn’t concerned but I’m so anxious after a previous loss just 4 months ago.

I had an ectopic in May of this year which resulted in a rupture and removal of my right tube. I’m now pregnant again. I got a positive on 12/23 and got my blood tested- 160 HCG. Second blood test today 12/26 (72 hrs later) and it’s 215 which is only like a 34% increase. No significant pregnancy symptoms right now nor any cramping/bleeding/spotting. I’m convinced I’m loosing this pregnancy and/or it’s another ectopic.
