Question Does ps5 pro improve RE4/8?

Does ps5 pro improve RE4/8? Seems people have mixed opinions on this, but what is the verdict now? Is it much of an improvement?

According to this page with Pro enhancement details, RE4 PSVR2 typical resolution is full 2040p on PS5 Pro vs 1530p on PS5, both with dynamic resolution foveated rendering.

hmm... i guess the fact that so many people think theres no difference might suggest its not much of an upgrade.

There are a couple of PSVR2 comparisons here that show a significantly higher resolution on Pro (at least when they are viewed fullscreen at 4K resolution).

Not the vr mode. The vr mode is a completely separate build and Capcom did not patch that version to upgrade with the ps5 pro. No vr games unless specifically patched get any improvements on the pro. Digital Foundry even discovered that the ps5 pro vr compatibility is currently locked in the console’s software until a future update. Anyone claiming the pro enhances non pro patched games are just experiencing a placebo effect.

That's not completely true. There are VR games with dynamic resolution and frame rate drops (especially Vertigo 2 on that point) that benefit even without a patch.

In a Q&A Mark Cerny was asked about psvr2 and ps5 pro compatibility and said it was something to be updated in the future.  Sony doesn’t really talk about psvr2 unprompted anymore and when they do it is just quick answers like what I just described. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if with all the issues pssr has had with flat games that Sony couldn’t get it working with vr at all and that is why the functionality is currently locked on the console.

I swear it runs smoother and looks cleaner

It looks the same to me, but the rare frame drops are now gone.

Unfortunately not in any real sense. However people see non-existant improvements every time they put on their headset every few weeks simply because their m we more forgets how cool VR as, so people will do their best to find them here too.

No updates to VR modes yet. Both games suffer from reprojection which compounds the blur issues and the Pro does nothing to fix this. Fingers crossed.

VR games by decent studios are already locked into pretty well perfect frame rates as not doing so will induce motion sickness, so you will not see an improvement unless the developer specifically patches for it.

It vastly improves it, look at the digital foundry videos for a first hand comparison. But I've been enjoying re4r with Ray tracing 60fps and resolution settings greatly. I also can set the game to a locked 120fps when I go for professional difficulty and frames are needed. It's a solid pro enhanced title imo.

MyB thought this was the PS5 pro subreddit

The flat version is enhanced, not the VR version.Â
