I just started the game, should I spend my gems on current banner?

No, september 11th banners are way superior (they'll have Luffy, Kid or Law in the forefront).

There's some free multis available right now and also we're getting a free mutli every day for the next week. Pull on those but save gems for the super sugo in two days (Part 1 releases on the 11th and Parts 2/3/4 release on the 12th)
