do you recommend saving for BM vs Kaido or Ace vs Akainu banner?

Both are top tier legends, while bm vs. kaido might be slightly better.

are any of these units available/boosted on later banners than the ones they debuted on?

yes.

wanna save gems to get either legend

they will probably be guaranteed when they debut on global. but make sure you have ~900 gems ready. BM/K will get released after the anniversary, so if you dont have enough gems you might want to save for ace/akainu
