Are the int akainu and kung fu luffy any good?

It depends on how far you're into the game. Int Akainu is good but that end of turn damage becomes a little meaningless when the boss has upwards to 10 mil hp.

I've seen Kung Fu Luffy used for some harder content but it was kind of forced, he wont be your first go to unit but you could make him work

Akainu is pretty useful to new players but kinda outdated and never used nowadays. Kung fu luffy is meh in PvE and pretty awesome in PvP.

Just a note is that Akainu still does see use, I’m using him to farm map piece Luffy right now.

Yeah you're right, he's definitely not useless and can clear new Psy or Dex content thanks to the powerful Friend captains he can be paired with, but his captain ability on it's own with a 3.25 attack boost (with the LB expansion this is fixed, but it's still just a 3.75 and better not talk about LB expansions to newer players) and 1M damage with no tankiness is just not enough most of the times considering how much HP bosses have nowadays; and the high presence of NAO doesn't help either. There are probably 5 to 10 more optimal options than him in everything he is able to clear.

Ok yeah you bring up a lot of very good points. Also requiring perfects is also a bad thing for new players. Still I like using him when I can.
