Half EXP team w/ F2P crew I found from Gamewith comments

You can get free 3 skulls by clearing the 30 and 40 and 50 stam difficulties while they're 0 stam by abandoning them if you don't get a skull.

Also found this from the JP Megathread, it is nice if you want to conserve stamina

Question: which stages can drop the skull?

I'd like to abuse this but it's not possible if only Stage 7 drops.

You'd have to clear the quest to know if you got the skull.

Just stage 7 afaik. Skulls are in only Rainbow Chests, As long as you don't enter the reward screen you can just quit the game, then select not to continue.

There is a slight chance that it will be a Large Potion as mentioned in the JP Megathread, then it's bad luck in that case.
