when Vegapunk said this, I thought "aren't fishmens stupid" and then looked back at 1115 and saw the big-ass sea monsters in the ruins and understood lmao

Thinking about it does this mean the sea kings purposefully guard these ruins and maybe they have a reason to attack ships crossing the Calm Belt?

Which means shirahoshi should be able to command them to give access to the ruins. Which makes sense as to why she is a deadly weapon to the WG

Would that make Sea Kings allies? Also interesting why Roger and Luffy could hear them

Well that would be the Voice of All Things. It seems like Luffy’s (along with Roger’s) is attuned enough to at least hear the voices while Momo’s/Oden’s are strong enough to even speak to them. Also seemed their manner of speaking sounded a lot like Zunesha and the Iron Giant, where the Sea Kings were also waiting for a certain “promised day” where Joyboy returns too.
