Holy shit Luffy’s lines at the end, and that panel where he’s just manically glaring at Kizaru and Saturn, sent chills down my spine.

The entire premise of the arc - particularly the ongoing battle - is that Vegapunk and the Straw Hats are trying to escape from Egghead and the Marines.

I expect it’s largely due to how TCB translated it, but the idea that it’s now Kizaru and Saturn who have no escape sends chills down my spine. This is what it means to pick a fight with an emperor in-person, whether it’s Big Mom or Kaido or Shanks, and Luffy is living up to those expectations.

Disagree, luffy and the gang have been on the losing end for most of egghead, this only started turning when 1. bonney turned the pacifistas over and 2. giants showed up which is a pretty big safety net to go all out.

Yeah, as we saw this chapter, having the Pacifistas and the Giants on their side completely turned the tide with the Buster Call. The Vice Admirals are getting pushed back and are contemplating retreat. Only Bluegrass and Doll still seem to be trying something.

The only actual threats left are Saturn, Kizaru, and Lucci. Suffice to say I think Zoro has Lucci in the bag, and clearly Luffy is going to do his damnedest to take down Saturn and Kizaru.

I mean Luffy definitely has the Marines cornered, that much is obvious. The “matter of how TCB translated it” is more a matter of Luffy’s dialogue and how exactly he frames things
