Yeah, I am very much happy about him getting serious and menacing. I know it is tricky for Oda to balance Luffy's freedom and happy-go-lucky-attitude with Gear 5 with intense battles with a lot on the line. I have faith in him though.

I feel the same way. Every time I see a post or video about "Gear 5th isn't tense" and "Luffy isn't serious anymore", I understand the sentiment but don't agree at all. It was still cool to see Luffy get serious this chapter, but the Joyboy continues to smile regardless.
