Luffy is on another level solidifying himself as an Emperor holding off Admiral and Gorosei at the same time I got goosebumps

Lore Piece next week is gonna be crazy, hopefully Oda doesn't blue ball us 😂

Best part of the chapter was no break next week

idk why. I saw that panel and the first thing that came to my mind is that "menacing" text you have on some One Punch Man panels. Kind of reminded me of Saitama i guess. No idea why!

He immediately went more serious than I thought he would get in Gear 5. I am glad as I was not too happy about how Luffy took Vegapunkt almost dying last chapter.

I thought his smile was menacing.

No idea why!

I guess it's the sharp contrast between the goofy happy go lucky dude and the same dude you know that is out to kill

It seems like a jojo menacing moment, where one is all powerful and about to kick ass

I think it would be weird at this point in the story to do it tbh.

If we suppose one piece ends around chapter 1300 we are past the 85% of the story. There's still so much lore to be explained, it can't be all dropped in the last few chapters.

Plus it would raise the stakes for a final war government vs everyone. Wouldn't be a bad thing!

I think One Piece will be closer to 1500 chapters. Despite how long it is, there’s still so much to tell and the publisher would still want the story to keep its grip on so many readers.

u/C0UNT3RP01NT Feb 22 '24

I see 1500 but I can also see 1300. If every arc runs like egghead with one big arc, it could be 1300. If there’s like two-three big arcs and a smattering of small arcs, it could be 1500. Depends on how fast Oda wants to do things.

2

u/MarcoMaroon Feb 22 '24

Yep. That’s true. I just think that there’s gonna be smaller arcs in order for things to come to a head in a big finale.

What’s the straw hat fleet going to do? What’s shanks gonna do?

What’s gonna happen to Law? What’s gonna happen to Garp? What’s Shanks’ backstory? Will Koby rise to become as powerful as an admiral?

Will Sakazuki join a final fight?

What’s gonna happen with Blackbeard and his role in all this?

What about Vivi and Shirahoshi and the remaining kingdoms, will they align with the World Government?

There’s so many questions left and I personally feel like they’re not all gonna be answered and even if there will be answers, it will take time to tell those stories.

I don’t think 1500 tbh, that’s around 10 more years

Agree with you completely but we’ve still gotten some teases even being this far into the story.

Recent examples are like kid saying “the burned man” and not just saying Saul or former marine giant etc, Shanks having to talk to gorosei about a certain someone, the giant robot on egg head (sort of), vegapunk knowing the buccaneer secret and getting cut off mid thought then teasing something about love, etc. We’ve commonly gotten teased on stuff for it to be explained a bit later even in this late game of the series

It’s how the story’s been for a while so wouldn’t be surprised if we shift focus next chapter to the giant robot or get blue balled again or something, but still feel we’ll see what vegapunk says and get a bit of lore

u/Perpli Feb 22 '24

We don't know what vegapunk is going to reveal.

It might simply just be that Imu exists.

6

u/ItsLoudB The Revolutionary Army Feb 22 '24

I trust Oda not to do something as underwhelming as that tbh.

Yeah I hope so. Oh boy...

6

u/walterwhiteofbrownie Feb 22 '24

what do those blue dots mean?

Am i missing something?

5

u/RodJosser Shanks' evil hot sister is REAL! Feb 22 '24

Blue balls 😄

u/Evaprime89 Feb 22 '24

I don’t think we get a full story, the WG is going to be scrambling like never before to cut the feed. So I’m assuming something very informative but also quick and concise so everyone understands what’s happening. I don’t think we get the entire void century story until Elbaf. Saul’s got to be there, and all the books from O’Hara are there as well as Dory and Brogy calling Luffy Nika, so I sense that’s probably when we get the full thing. Regardless whatever beans Vegapunks spills is going to change everything and kick off the final Saga nicely.

u/RodJosser Shanks' evil hot sister is REAL! Feb 22 '24

Yeah, could be. "Just enough" info to stir up the pot. Maaan. Just a few days more.

Did you copy this comment from underneath the TCB link or are you the same person who commented that

2

u/auctus10 Void Month Survivor Feb 22 '24

Lmao yes. I read comments there first and always on reddit I find some of the comments from tcb scans. Not sure if they are same person or they copy paste it here to farm Karma.

2

u/SharkSugarr Feb 22 '24

I was wondering the same thing lmao

2

u/heat_fan_ Feb 23 '24

Same guy different name on Reddit 😂

2

u/Perpli Feb 22 '24

It's going to be a Zoro vs Lucci chapter next week with no reveal of lore, then it'll be a break.

I reckon 3 weeks minimum until we find out what vegapunk is going to reveal..!

2

u/temperamentalfish Feb 22 '24

He looks like a real Yonko. It's like Kaido on the rooftop. What a sight it is to see Luffy at this level.

2

u/winchost Feb 22 '24

Oda about to blueball us like he did when Luffy told the crew about his dream lol

2

u/GangsterRavioliGuy Pirate King Feb 22 '24

Don't think we're gonna get blue balled, lore-piece has been heavy this arc.

2

u/giorgosfy Feb 22 '24

As if he doesn't find a new way to blue ball us literally every week lol

2

u/MrMuf Feb 22 '24

Are we aware if the elders are even good at fighting?

4

u/modimusmaximus The Revolutionary Army Feb 22 '24 edited Feb 22 '24

We don't know how well they actually fight, but Saturn at least seems very powerful regarding his stare that left even Sanji immobile, his feet attacks and his new venom power. Also, he got insane regeneration, which makes him a tricky opponent. Otherwise, he does not seem very mobile, which is a huge drawback I think irrespective of his other abilities.

4

u/KNZFive Feb 22 '24

Saturn can make people's heads explode if they look at him or by just staring at them. Even he can't "fight," he's still absurdly powerful.

5

u/Kirosh2 Lookout Feb 22 '24

At the very least, they have super powerful devil fruit, and Haki.

Even Sanji couldn't move against Saturn. And that Venom would be pretty lethal.

2

u/saveapennybustanut Feb 22 '24

They all have battle scars and some kind of weapon.

They are probably not immortal but have superior devil fruits or hidden abilities.

2

u/naztig Feb 22 '24

They must be all good at fighting, but since Saturn is in charge of science/technology, I always think he is the weakest among them all.

2

u/Dramatic-Ad2848 Feb 22 '24

Of course they are lol. They are the final bosses

u/thedrq Feb 22 '24

Is that panel of him holding Saturn and Kizaru the first time we see Luffy not smiling in gear 5th

-1

u/CarcosanAnarchist Feb 22 '24

Will this be enough to shut the Gear 5 whiners up about how he’s not being serious enough? His face when he grabs them is chill inducing.

1

u/vinotm Feb 22 '24

It's more impressive since Kizaru tried to become light but Luffy immediately denied his transformation

1

u/mrt-e Slave Feb 22 '24

everyone in OP world will know about the truth but not the readers and for next 100 chapters we'll have civil interactions mentioning the truth without revealing it

u/figures Feb 22 '24

Small flashback first if these are for real Stella's last words.
