Oh that Self Destruct is going to fuck over Saturn. Kuma is 100% blowing himself and Saturn up with it.

Unforunatly, that also takes away even the small hope of Kuma surviving. Especially since it seems Bonney touching the memories means they are now gone, so no transferring those to anyone else.

Only if Kuma can activate it himself, which I doubt.

I think it's likely that he will get a proper goodbye with Bonney, after they somehow manage to leave Egghead together, only for Saturn to make Kuma go boom.

Vegapunk can probably activate it. If not by command, then surely manually

the point of that mechanism was to offer a backup alternative in case Vegapunk cannot command or touch Kuma, if I understood the chapter right. They way it's put, remains confusing how the mechanism can be activated. But it seems it something parallel to the hierarchy of ranks and commands

I would expect it to follow the same hierarchy.

or even better, remove it

Unfortunately I don't think there is time for that in the middle of the current situation

Yeah, it would require that all of them (including kuma) leave egghead safely. It doesn't seem likely at all

Potentially in an early act of defiance, Vegapunk installed a self-destruct that only destroys the Pacifista part of him. It would be great if Saturn tried to use it and after some explosions and fanfare, Kuma remained.

Maybe I'm coping too hard. But the self-destruct and personality switch are introduced in the same breath, so maybe there's something to it.

But the self-destruct and personality switch are introduced in the same breath

I thought this demonstrated that Kuma may be able to activate the self-destruct himself.

Didn't jump out at me at first and now I hate you

Wild theory;- He installed the self destruct trigger, but connected it to the split-memory thing he mentioned.

Kuma's going to come flying in, Saturn command him to self destruct and .. click.

Okay. So it's pure wishful thinking. Shut up.

It's not that unrealistic. They did mention those two things back to back.
