Kuma is literally jesus

Only if he gets to return. Otherwise he will be closer to a saint.

Once he hears the drums of liberation in front of him he'll come back I have no doubt

I would prefer if Bonny is the one who brings him back. They havent properly seen eachother in years. Otherwise I hope Vegapunk has some kind of contengency installed inside of Kuma.

It'll probably be both tbh, there's so much set up, he'll come back just long enough to die and say how much he loves Bonney and fulfill his wish to see Nika, I have no doubt in my mind

he'll come back just long enough to die and say how much he loves Bonney

He already did when Bonney touched his memories.

Omg I cant believe I hadnt even though of that parallel, Jesus returning and only then ascending.

Imagine all of that Kuma modified power put into fight action. Could absolutely be yonko level, right?

Absolutly. Being near death and in peril makes characters stronger right? Kuma is the definition of that. One last fight would be bitter sweet. Still I hope that he and Bonny get their happily ever after. Maybe with Vegapunk and Kizaru. It would be so nice if they could all travel together. Be a big happy family. Enjoy pizza and maybe save slaves just like Nika would. Oda please give them a happy end.

Isn' t he doing just that ? He was supposedly "dead".

He is literally named after one so that would be apt.

John the Baptist, more like.

u/hiero_ Dec 21 '23

Oh, wow. I like that analogy a lot actually. He really is a John the Baptist figure.

More like metaphorically, but yes, that's the point

This chapter will be published during the 24th, so yes, he is.

Longest, thickest of foreskins, that timing.

Jesus didn't fight the world government for decades. He didn't raise a kid.

If i'd choose a role model for myself between them, it would be Kuma everytime.

The whole point of Jesus is compassion, empathy, forgiveness and non violence. He wasn't preaching to fight or attacking government figures.

Kuma->Jesus.

Jesus literally did fight the world government, historically.

What the hell are you smoking, lmao.

There is no world government IRL, and certainly wasn't 2000 years ago. Beyond that, the actual historicity of Jesus is fairly questionable.

His existence isn't referenced in any primary historical sources. Everything we think we know about Jesus is based solely on the gospels (which were written long after his death by people who wouldn't have known him) and on secondary sources.

The odds that Jesus as described in the Bible is actually just a fictional character or an amalgamation of several different historical figures are pretty decent.

If he had actually existed as described, been so influential, and been such a thorn in the Roman Empire's side, then he would surely be mentioned in the Roman histories of the time, and yet he is not.

My comment was stretching it and I don't care to defend it, but since you're unaware of this, here's a link for you friend.

I'm not smoking I have a phobia of smoking things.

Oh, your bible seems to have some stuff Martin Luther didn't include.

Jesus was very regional in that one.

2

u/Piccolito Dec 21 '23

so after 3 day he will be ressurected?

u/funkymonkeyinheaven Dec 22 '23

Got his own bible and everything

The only similarity I can see is that he sacrificed himself. And he's been associated with religious imagery with his bible and the church.
