The riots were stopped on June 4th, 1989. Tank man incident happened on June 5th, and it was around 13:00 based on the shadows.

From the picture, you can see the tanks were headed east, away from the Square on Changan Street. So, tank man was trying to stop the tanks from leaving.

At this vantage point from the Beijing Hotel, Tiananmen Square and People Great Hall Building are clearly visible, and many foreign journalists stayed in this hotel during the riots. Why aren't videos of the violence from the day before made publicly known as tank man video? Because, most of the dead were soldiers, and it wouldn't look good for "peaceful protesters" narrative.

The USA every year on the anniversary make a big deal for China on mainstream media... And it's kinda symbol for freedom and that shit that they like to spread... Anyway I hope this kind of scenes will the same treatment by media as the tank man does... Because as other says that guy got away alive(tank man) and on the Palestinian side not many can tell about something like this.
