There are an estimated 9 million refugees and migrants in Egypt according to the UN mostly from Syria and, in more recent years, Sudan. That number represents about 9% of Egypt's population. I'm not aware of any country on earth that has such a high percentage of refugees/migrants.

Is that the new line you retards are using?

And why should they? They're not Egyptian. They're Palestinian.

How about all those Iraqi Jewish refugee camps in Israel...in 1948 there were 140,000 jews who lived in Iraq. They were foced to flee and a majority of them went to Israel.

Did Israel set up Iraqi Jewish refuggee camps? No, they welcomed them as citizens. In Jordan today you can be born in the country and still not be considered Jordanian.

More Jews were expelled from Arab lands than Palestianians during the Nabka. the difference is that Israel accepted these Arab Jews into society while other arab countries used palestians as political pawns.

They were egyptians until Egypt abandoned them in 67... you are a real history buff huh?

2

That's irrelevant to the conversation. It's like saying Kosovo was once Serbia. ok and what? What's worse is that Egypt had Sinai and Gaza up until 67. Didn't include the West Bank that was held by Jordan. History buff lol

The war is in gaza numbbnuts. I agree, though, that gaza should go back to Egypt and the Westbank to Jordan. The Israelis can trade the settlements in exchange for the palestinians giving up any claim on Jerusalem. Win win. (Except for Egypt and Jordan, obviously)

Except Israel will never do that because that's against its own expansionist interests. They'd rather keep Gaza as a massive open air concentration camp than cede it to Egypt.

As for the West Bank, their plan of settlements has been working wonderfully in slowly ethnically cleansing the Palestinians.

Thanks to Trump, Israel is much closer to making Jerusalem theirs with the embassy move.

You are very naive given the set of circumstances in play.

Egypt won't take them. The Israelis have asked many times. Jerusalem is Israeli.

No one should own Jerusalem.

Too bad you aren't king of the world.

And what is that supposed to mean. Are you trying to admit to something?

So should any country ever accept refugees? After all why should they?

3

u/GawandeHates Aug 10 '24

Ah yes you've gone with that line ok then. I'm going to give you a chance. Do you think, if the Palestinians shipped off to the Sinai they would ever be able to return? Simple yes or no will work.

Countries don't accept refugees contingent on their eventual return. That's why refugees are given paths to citizenship (except Palestinian refugees in surrounding Arab countriesđŸ¤”).

Europe doesn't reject Ukrainian refugees because "they might not be able to return".

2

u/GawandeHates Aug 11 '24

I knew you'd be intellectually dishonest. Because the truth is very simple.

You mentioned Ukraine. It's a very easy question to answer. Ukrainians that have fled their country are able to return if they so wanted. They have the right of return.

Palestinians who leave Gaza and the West Bank, Cannot return back to Gaza or the West Bank, the right of return is denied on them

You knew but of course didn't want to mention so I can see your intentions now.

Why should they accept Refugees? Did they make them refugees? No. Fucking Isreal did. So why don't you ask Isreal to take up responsibility? Instead of some other country?
