Everyone’s always talking about the vocals, but the drums/guitar have such a powerful sound. Andrew Robles fighting for his life on that guitar fr
Really fun debut, I’m glad they finished it. Must’ve been really hard to stay focused after all this time

Forget me not is the only stand out to me (probably because Ive listened to for days after it released), otherwise its not bad but nothing special

I quite listening after liar was released. But, love the album. It's full of straight bangers.

Their choruses are extremely catchy, especially the last 3 tracks. Can really see these dudes blowing up! This will def be on repeat for me

Last 3-4 songs really rip. The others are good too, but they’ve been out for a while. Very much enjoy this album

I enjoyed this release and having all the singles now available to listen in an album format is nice. Death blooms seemed different to me. Does anyone know if they re-recorded it or did they produce it differently?

We indeed did have the entirety of the collection remixed/mastered together to make sure it was all cohesive

It definitely sounds different from when they released back in 2018/2019, I’m not sure what they did to it, but it was kind of recent.

This record gets better and better with each song. Fundamentally it’s nostalgic, melancholic and a solid metalcore album. After a few back to back listens I could now pick Livealie out of a crowd and this distinct sound is what keeps me coming back. The riffs, vocals and ambience are top tier. It’s familiar yet refreshingly unique and I’m here for it!

A huge gripe of mine is when bands release most of the album as singles. Another is when one or more of the singles are 2 or more years old. Despite this album doing both of those things I still really enjoyed it. Maybe I'm just biased towards James as a vocalist and songwriter, but this album does it for me. I don't know how they managed to make these songs that I've heard many times by now flow so cohesively together as an album, but it's pretty impressive. On paper this album should be a 4-5/10 for me, it does almost everything that I dislike in metalcore, and yet I really like it. Who knows what's going on, maybe my brain is broken. Oh well, a really nice way to close out 2024 regardless.

I really dig Smothered, that track stands out to me on my first listen. Only been through the album once so a more thorough opinion is probably better left to someone else until I have more time to really spend on it vs. driving to and from work in the car.
I feel like it feels like James’ vocal talent stands out a bit more without some of the distracting elements of OAAs instrumentals… not that I didn’t love them too, just feels like a more polished and melodic experience here. I can see the criticisms comparing them to Invent, Animate etc but I love that band so I enjoy this sound as well.

I thought it was...ok to pretty good
Third listen through at this point. The guitar and drum work is good. The mixing is kinda 'harsh' though. I feel like I'm straining to hear certain parts over just the punchy drums and the singing comes through very clear while everything else kinda is just there. Maybe the mids are too low? (My headphones are decent enough)
Maybe unpopular opinion, I like the screaming. The singing sounds very mediocre though. Not that it's "bad", but just uninspired and there. Very serviceable. Just not catching me enough.
I think this album is a perfect example of making songs that honestly sound pretty good in a vacuum, but listening to 11 of these back to back to back I'm struggling to find their "sound" or an atmosphere of feeling this album is trying to convey.
There's been a lot of "meh" releases this year and this is a step above that though. (For reference I thought the new Make Them Suffer was the peak 'meh' metalcore I've heard this year, not bad, but just... there).
Whirlpools is still my favorite track I think, Death Blooms is great as well. Disciples is the sound they need to lean into more (If you can't tell, they are their best with that melancholic atmospheric tempo, they have that sound down well)
Despite what's been said here, I did not like the last three very much at all. And I think it ended on a bad note because of if. They felt very out of place for me.

Really fucking good, definitely a top 5, maybe top 3 for me. I think if the cleans weren't as drowned out at times, and it had more than 8 songs excluding intro/interludes it would push even higher on my list. It's such a banging debut though, easily my favorite work involving James, and the rest of the crew are shooting straight fire.

Another single drip fed album that would have impressed me so much more if I hadn’t heard 70% of it over the last 3 years

It’s good but it makes me miss James-era OAA more than anything. No disrespect but James is 10x more talented than anyone else in this band. Nothing exciting/interesting going on with guitars or drums.

Great album! Whirlpools has been on my rotation for the whole year already
