I have here my R56 2011 Mini Cooper base model. I need help identifying and finding replacements for these parts. I believe the bent black rod is my lower control arm and the cracked silver part is the control arm bushing? Iâve worked a few times on this car but not like this. Would my strut tower need to be replaced as well? Eventually Iâll need to figure out the bodywork as well. If I could be directed to any kind of DIY article or if you have any tips for helping me complete this project, that would be awesome.
Over the past week or two I noticed I can hear when the clutch is engaged. This morning, starting from cold, car would not start for several attempts.
For the last 2 weeks, when starting engine from cold, Iâve noticed you can hear when the clutch pedal is engaged. It doesnât sound particularly bad, itâs a mechanical sound and it is quite quiet. It just sounds like a mechanical component in the engine rotating like normal, but I canât say Iâve noticed this sound before.
Iâve only been able to hear it once the revs are below 1000 after starting. After driving for 15 minutes or so, once the engine is warm, you can no longer hear this.
Yesterday when starting my engine I noticed a âclunkâ from the engine that you can both hear and feel. It only happened when initially pressing start, and the car seemingly had no issues starting.
This morning when starting my engine the same âclunkâ occurred, however for multiple attempts the engine would not start. It was as if I had released the clutch pedal too early or not pressed it all the way down. Eventually on I think the 6th attempt after waiting a minute or so it finally started with the âclunkâ. Again you could hear the clutch when the pedal was pressed in.
Iâve had no issues with bite point or gear changes, and it seemed to be running fine once it started. Interested to hear what people suspect could be the issue? From what Iâve read I suspect something to do with the clutch bearing, but honestly Iâm clueless.
Hopefully it can make it through the next couple of days as my local garage reopens on the 2nd.

What would people on this sub say about an R53 Cooper S as a beater project/ eventually track car? Inexperienced and want to learn how to work on cars, is this a terrible idea? How are they to work on? Thanks

I posted in here recently about my Mini having a break pads need replacing even though I had it serviced and MOTd with no advisories to do with that. However, on the service they mentioned about my battery percentage sitting at 68%. Since then my car has come up with further 'issues.' Was wondering if anyone has come across this with their MINI and whether it could be the battery needs replacing?
She's a 2018 plate and I believe it could be the original battery in the car but unsure.
I don't know much about cars so any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Had my first breakdown on Christmas dayđ Diagnosed as a fault with the âexhaust gas recirculation valveâ which is sticking and then causing the exhaust to over heat, which then caused the car to cut out and stall (despite it being automatic), it would start again but would stay on for about 3 seconds before it cut out again, recovery came out and reset the fault so I could continue my drive (I was 1 and a half hours into a 2 hour journey when I broke down)
Iâve been advised not to drive it for longer journeys (anything above half an hour really) as thereâs a risk it could stick and breakdown again.
The problem Iâm facing is finding somewhere to fix it in between Xmas and New year as most local garages are shut, Iâm having to borrow my Mumâs car to get to back home and to work. Has anyone else experienced this? What was the cost of repair like?
Thanks in advance
Love the way they look on the Rebel Green next to the yellow SE badges âĄïž

I have a R57 JCW, I want to get new taillights but all I can find are the Union Jack style taillights. I was wondering if there are any other styles.
I am loving it.
She looks awesome.
These are only temporary until I get a new paintjob maybe after the new year.
These are just covering the damage from the idiot that ran into my Rini when she was parked.
So I washed her today and got her some new stickers for the doors đđ„°

Dodger decided to go for a walk, so thought I'd tag along.
so last night I was at a gas station and my 2004 mcs overheated out of nowhere. I waited and opened the coolant tank and there was no coolant in there. so I bought some coolant and filled it up and the car was completely fine on the 70 mile drive home, when I got home I looked in the tank again and there was still some in the tank but not as much as I put in. I also have no idea how I ended up with no coolant in the tank. so I saw this in the picture and it kind of looks like somthing is leaking on the supercharger and the radiator hose clamp seems like it's a little wet. could this be the issue? I have no idea how to find a coolant leak
Can we please make a list of 17 inch alloys that will fit on a F56 Mini Cooper S 2014+ with JCW brakes. I donât want to have to use spacers.
Also if anyone can share any insight on size/fitment to look out for, would be useful.
I want the offset to sit flush with the body preferably, I donât want them sticking out.
Thanks

My Mini Clubman 1.5 makes a metal rattling sound on cold starts (only when cranking, sounds and runs great after). The starts after the first cold start are normal. The car also shakes/vibrates when cranking. Could it be the engine mounts?

I'm considering leasing an EV Mini Countryman. Right now, there's a deal in Northern California: zero down payment, no first payment, and $500 a month for 36 months (ouch), with a limit of 7,500 miles per year. Any thoughts or suggestions?
