Anyone know of any job openings in the valley or nearby? I have a friend at risk of losing her apartment after 2 layoffs in a year. She's tried applying for everything from gig work (a lot are on hiring freezes) to seasonal work (no bites) to all sorts of jobs she'd qualify for. She's had her resume reviewed by myself and several others. She has a lot of customer support/customer success experience and is very much a "go above and beyond her paygrade" kinda person.

She's been doing 2-3 part time jobs but it's just not enough to keep her afloat. If anyone has any leads that would be awesome.

If I wasn't already helping my boyfriend (who is also looking for work and had 4 interviews right before Christmas, fingers crossed!) I would be helping her out financially, but I can't support 3 people.

Does she have any experience with kids? Places are always hiring for behavior technicians to work with kids with autism or other developmental delays. But, there may be bites!

Hm, I don't think she does unfortunately. Do you know what kind of companies specialize in stuff like this though? I can always throw it her way and see if she'd be comfortable doing it.

Would something like this require certifications? I feel like it would.

If you type in “behavior technician” on indeed, they all come up. There is a certification but places will train and pay for it! It can be more about personalities matching than actual experience so she has a good shot.

Got it! I'll mention it to her as an option to look into. Never hurts especially since so many Indeed jobs are the "easy apply" type.

May hurt if bitten.

True. I had a friend who did this and had a kid scratch and bite her all the time

She's a LARPer, I'll tell her to buy some armor with her paycheck. ;p

It’s fucking frustrating and honestly shameful to me that a qualified person eager to work should have to consider whether compromising their physical safety is worth poverty wages

Yeah it really is. I don't look down on any jobs but to have like 10yrs of various work experience (both retail and corporate) and being told that isn't enough is actually insane to me.
